Oh - Violet Rhoden Taylor, 35, found shot, Pike County, 11 June 2018

I feel like it’s within reach, it’s just not being grabbed, IMO
Reading between lines here and adding a bit of supposition, it seems there's a reasonable circumstantial case but they're waiting, or looking, for something more definitive in the way of confession to pin it all together. IMHO.

Are you referring to VT's untimely death or that of the other Rhoden family members 2 yrs ago?

"My cousin just shot herself," a woman told a dispatcher noting she was at a home on the 2600 block of Stewart Hollow Road but Taylor was "down the holler." The woman reports in the call "some guy" who had been with Taylor had said she'd shot herself.

BBM

That sounds odd.
Despite the passage of 10 days since the incident, an initial report has not been completed by the Pike County Sheriff's Office.

I guess they're going to refer it to the Pike County Grand Jury/s

LOL Betty @ the Pike county Grand jury. That comment truly made me literally laugh.

But yes, it sounds quite odd. I believe in the 911 call, you hear the woman say she doesn’t know who the man is and he ran off scared. I mean, I’m sure it’s scary IF someone shorts themselves in front of you, but my first reaction would be to try and help that person. Running off scared says something isn’t right.

Oh, yeah. Running off scared or running off because you just killed someone and don't want to be caught? Or running off because you led her down to the woods where the killer/s were waiting and it was your job to go back and report her "suicide" to her friend.

I read a lot about suicides while following the Rebecca Zahau case for several years. This "suicide" scenario is highly unusual, if not the first of it's kind. Come on... Never heard of anyone escorting someone into the woods so they could commit suicide, then running away.

Then the Chillicothe Gazette uses the headline suggesting she committed suicide per the 911 call details. Wow.

ETA: Is it just me or does the caller sound detached and unemotional about the whole situation?

No way is someone going to run off after seeing someone shoot themself. Wouldn't they be in shock, or something?

The only "innocent" explanation I can think of is if they already had a warrant for their arrest on some charge, were on parole/probation and were afraid of going back to jail or high/drunk or both and didn't want to be busted. In many ways, that adds to suspicion, too.

What did you think of the 911 call, I found it interesting. The lack of emotion in her voice, she didn't know details, it almost seemed like she was annoyed? What do you suppose was going on in that holler. Did they go there to get high? Was VT forced there? Where was the caller when V supposedly shot herself. She said she had to come up by the road to call but said she didn't know what happened down there, the guy running told her. I don't know, something just doesn't sit right with me about this.
