I respectfully disagree. I am sure that a normal young man's thoughts when an attractive young girl goes to a motel room with them, and they don't have sex... would be disappointment?

Not thoughts of rape, a ballistic beating and murder.
Not sure I like the implication that it would be normal to rape someone because they went to your motel room, they were young, and you found them attractive. Rape is NOT about sex or being mad because you didn't get any and you're so horny. It is about power.

Also, the majority of people who get raped are not young, attractive and in someone's motel room. They are just average normal people who have the misfortune to cross paths with an evil person that takes out their anger by raping people.

Considering the lame attempt to make the coffee alibi, if Stephany really was not wearing a skirt, it makes way more sense that it was a staging of the scene than an attempted rape. Especially if you consider they claim she was not sexually assaulted, and with the difference in their size, there's no reason he wouldn't have been successful if he'd done so.

Just my thoughts.

I am not convinced that he staged a rape. I think that there was an attempt of rape and she fought it and robbery was an afterthought before he took off.

Think about what a young man's thoughts were when a young attractive girl goes into a hotel room with him. I sure he thought this was part of the deal. IMO

That's what I was thinking & also afraid of. However, others here have said that he was telling them he had a headache & heaven knows, almost anyone knows more about Spanish than I do.

At any rate, it's good to see Joran without a smirk. I think he's just about figured out that being the "Prince of Aruba" doesn't carry much weight in Peru.

I'm going to try to look at this logically--which makes no sense because of all the conflicting info LOL.

Let's say they really did go back to his room to lay down for a couple hours and because the casino was closing for a few as well (I think that was mentioned early on). Maybe they play a little online poker and she is tired and takes her jeans off and crashes. He decides to nap, too. When they get up Joran goes online. The mongolito email comes up---has anyone seen anymore of what that message actually said? She looks over his right shoulder and reads it--it may actually mention Natalee. She confronts him and bops him on the side of the head while he's sitting. He elbows her (her face is down at shoulder level reading) in the left eye-hard. She yells at him and he explodes, gets up, then grabs her, pushing her back to the bed. He tries choking her and ends up breaking her neck and she falls between the wall and the bed. He sits there to cool down and decide what to do. He cleans up and then remembers he owes for 2 days yet. (He came May 14 and paid for 2 wks--that takes him to the 28th. OK, he'll pretend he got locked out of the room and go to the desk and while he's there--he will pay up those two days so they won't come in after he leaves. (He toys with idea of someone came in while he was out, but realizes he can't--with the camera there. He puts out the DND sign and lets someone know his "girl" is still sleeping--don't bother her-she has the key. He also says he'll be back. He's paid so far so why wouldn't they believe him? When they finally go check after another 2-3 days since he was only paid up thru the 30th, they find Stephany.

As far as the injuries on her--forgive me for the eyeball thing, but after a body has laid 2-3 days with no air conditioning, a swollen eye could easily rupture and eject the eyeball itself. I hate to be graphic but I don't think he ripped her eye out.

bolded by me...IMO...that is EXACTLY what is happening....The Peru prison is ..."documenting" GOOD treatment of Joran...Recording everything "done for his "protection" and welfare....and when the camera/cameraman..."goes away" and REAL prison life..will begain...AWAY from the camera eye.

I believe ( and this may sound "harsh". so I apologize beforehand) that he will be "introduced" to prison "life" as it "really is". He is not going to be "coddled" and "babied"...It is the way of the prison..

I do not believe the prison...will..."protect" him from being "rough upped" and beaten, raped, starved, and other "unspeakable" viles of prison life..

They may however...not permit him to die...before his trial..

They may allow him to have..."visitors" that terrorize him, for their own "entertainment"....

After all...he killed one of their own....They hate him...

I have no personal knowledge of Peru/Peru prisons...but have read many non/fiction books on prison life...especially is prisons not in our country..

Joran may have felt...with the camera rolling...that this is not "so bad..I can DO THIS"....but I have a feeling...he is going to have a nightmarish awakening in his days to come.....This filming was ...all for show...

I think they will keep him alive and unbattered until he can get to trial. They have the world watching them and have been under major criticism (long before Joran graced them with his presence) about the human rights of their prisoners.

They do not want to have him bloodied, battered, or dead before he is tried. Once he is a convicted murderer he will be in there with the rest of them. They are not well set up for solitary confinement and are only going to waste so many resources on him though so I would expect his trial will come along pretty shortly (when compared to the wait time of others).

Once they are up there, he goes to his laptop opens his email and reads this email that said..."Am going to kill you, psycho," he then tells her how he was accused of killing Natalee Holloway in 2005, she (Stephanie) flips out and punches him on the side of his face and he became enraged hit her with his elbow and left her some what knocked out (she was still concious). He told the authorities that he was shocked at the way that Stephanie reaccted to him telling her about Natalee that he grabed her by her throat with both his hands and choked her for "about a min." He then told the authorities that he took her wallet & took off in her truck parked it some where then grabbed a cab to some town then grabbed another cab to a city, but this idiot told both cabs what he had done to stephanie and how he was being wrongfully accused of killing Natalee. But according to a Chilean police report obtained by The Associated Press through Peruvian authorities late Saturday, Van der Sloot gave a different account of events while in custody in neighboring Chile, where he was captured after the killing and quickly extradited.

In the version offered to Chilean investigators, Van der Sloot said he and Flores were surprised in the early morning by two robbers in an apparent assault.

Also confused since there was a camera that is telling the real story of who went to and from the room does not show anyone else entering that room or covering up the camera.

Thanks, Suzihawk, for the links. I didn't get past the point where the guy starts to rehash the old "Natalee wasn't coming home" lie. (As if the Aruban authorities wouldn't have shouted that from the rooftops if it were true, or legitimate reporters wouldn't have found that out, as well. It's not like the doings of a teenage American were state secrets.) How sad that these con artists link themselves to a tragic situation and then proceed to make the lives of people who are in a terrible situation even worse. And there are always people who want to believe them fir reasons I will never understand.

I'd love to take credit for the great sleuthing that found those links, but it wasn't me. LOL

I think this was part of Joran's plan. He kills Stephany, removes her pants, has the hotel worker open the room his the key. Joran wanted the hotel worker to see the body. But it didn't work. He wanted to stage it so it looked like someone else raped Stephany and killed her why he was on his fake coffee run.
