I don't see the eyes as that similar but the mouth and the nose look pretty close. Is that the same curtain in the background?

They look somewhat different to me, though without a doubt in the same apartment. It could just be how the light is shining through them making them look different, but I think its also possible that thats a different room in the home and the curtains are just similar, not exactly the same. They look shorter than the curtains in the other photos to me.

Has anyone else noticed that in some of the photos the girls have a bit of weird eye makeup going on? The girl in the photo you posted has it (http://cnnnancygrace.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/00295.jpg), and I think Ive seen 2 other photos in the mix that the girl has weird eyeliner under her eyes. Is it possible HE was putting it on them?

It just seems weird that in the photo her eye stuff isnt smudged or messy at ALL but it almost looks like she had been crying? It just seems strange that it would be so perfect unless it was freshly applied. Punklove, I think you're right on many points. There were more young people into sewing decades ago than there are today, so some of these clothes may be handmade, one-of-a-kind outfits.

In this photo, the records are flipped open and that pinkish one in the middle is Cream's "Disraeli Gears," released in Nov. 1967:

There's also a "Sony Videocorder," which I believe was one of the first VCR-type appliances. I put in an email to a guy who runs an online VCR museum in hopes of identifying its year of production. That might help us date this photo.

I wish they'd specify who was found safe -- the ones who were nude at his apartment or just the ones seen in public places? Also, I wish they'd blur/block out as many of the pornographic ones as possible and post the edited photos, because it seems that anyone who was intimate with this guy or in front of his camera had the greatest chance of becoming his victim.

The first person I thought of when I heard this story was Tammy Lynn Leppart. I'm sure her sister is well aware of the story and I wonder if she would be able to access some of the photos that weren't released.

Great work on the matches. I think the Purple Hiphuggers and the gal in the yellow bikini are extremely high probability matches.

There's one photo of a woman applying eye makeup. I think it's the same woman. There was a period in the late 70's where that exaggerated clumpy look was in style in the avant-garde original goth crowd -- think The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Alcala is known to have been living in Greenwich Village for at least part of that time, so he would definitely have been aware of that crowd and interested in staging that sort of photograph.

I just got done speaking with my neighbor who is a retired El Segundo police officer. I asked him if he knew anything about a body of a woman (i.e., Charlotte Lamb) found in a laundry room in El Segundo. He did. In fact, he was the watch commander at the scene after the body was found. The interesting thing is that she was found on the 600 block of Illinois Court, three blocks from where I live.

He said that she was a very attractive woman, and hey figured that the had brought her body there from a different location because nobody in the area recognized her. It was quite a while before they were able to determine who she was. He was unaware though, that this case was related to Rodney Alcala who has been in the news lately.

There's a picture of a girl against a blue background. The shape of her nose, forehead, and eyes resemble Rachel Trlica to me. In the photo, the girl has kind of a spaced-out look. I'll try posing it again; I'm not real good at images.

I think this girl looks a lot like Robin Ann Graham, but it says when she went missing she had on a red shirt, I wonder how accurate that kind of information is? Also, the unknown girl in the picture has a lot of freckles and Robin's picture looks like a touched up high school yearbook picture, so it's hard to tell if she has freckles or not. Their features are very similar. Does anyone know what cars this guy was driving, did he own a vette? Also, can anyone make out what she is standing next to?

Just put long hair on the Charley Project picture, and they look just alike. If they were the same gender, I'd think it was a match.
