I've been following Zahra's case since she was reported missing; she was a just a defenseless little girl who didn't deserve to die so painfully alone. Nor should her little body have been treated so abominably.
I'd like to know if the cause of death is found to be that of neglect of needed medical attention what charges can be brought against either/or/both caretakers?
Does this COD prevent murder charges being filed?
If someone else has already asked please direct me.

The Bakers moved to 21 21st NW ave. sometime in in late Sept./early Aug. Their address prior to the move to 21st NW Ave. was 4010 Phillip Lane in the Sawmills Area of Hudson, NC.

Many neighbors of the Bakers (at 21st NW address), have stated that they never saw Zahra.

Unable to prove COD does not prevent murder charges, think Caylee Anthony...murder charges can be brought on someone even without a body. Harder for a conviction but it can happen...

I'm not a legalease person but if neglect can be proven and no one got Zahra medical attention that is a possibility but I'm hoping for murder charges for EB, especially...she needs to be stopped before she gets bolder in her crimes. This is one evil person, IMO and who knows how far she'd go...well, her own child feared her so I can only imagine what precious Zahra felt about her...I'm betting she was crying about wanting to go home which added the fuel to EB's fire...JMHO

How did AB obtain a passport for ZB

If a person has apparent financial issues with worthless checks and such.

How would AB or EB be able to get attorney. I notice in many cases the suspects seem to get attorneys pretty fast and a crime as murder I am sure it cost quite a bit.

Does anyone know how they are financing the attorneys. Are they in private practice or public defenders?

Lisa Dubs confirmed Friday that she has been assigned to Baker’s case as provisional council. According to court records, Dubs’ role is to “Conduct a preliminary investigation, determine if the defendant is indigent and needs appointed counsel, and protect the defendant’s rights pending appointment of trial counsel.”

North Carolina’s Indigent Defense Services Director and Capital Defender Robert M. Hurley assigned Dubs to Baker’s case Monday.

Scott Reilly was appointed to defend Baker on her assortment of charges unrelated to the Zahra Baker homicide investigation and the obstruction of justice charge that followed Baker’s Oct. 12 confession to police that she’d written a fake ransom note demanding $1 million.

Adam Baker was appointed attorney Mark Killian in the worthless check case. The case was continued until Jan. 21, 2011.
