Hah, if this whole thing wasn't so damn sad I'd be laughing over this. Big Red sounds like he was going to have himself quite a 'setup' going there. What else in the world could possibly come out????

Right, I know better than to ask that question. :eek:

I’ve always had a hunch (all opinion only)…that this started with AM arriving at the kennel, where PM and MM were tending to the dogs…and AM getting into an argument with M, and slapping his wife around. PM may have acquired his tendency to physically abuse women by watching Daddy do the same.

PM…much shorter and slimmer than his Dad…grabbed a gun to defend Mom…and in a struggle for the gun, was shot first. Second shot was rage. MM tried to run away and was shot as she tried to escape.

It’s just the two different guns that are hard to fit in this theory…unless MM was far enough away that he needed that different gun.

For me this begs the question, why wasn't Alex arrested earlier if they found evidence of blood spatter on his clothing? Wouldn't his clothing have been examined much earlier in the investigation?
My question as well. I've been waiting impatiently for this information. Not surprised to see it. Wasn't his brother out "shooting" that day as I recall? Hunting rifle probably

The entire world is Alex’s playground…

That Good Morning America "Aw, shucks, we're just a regular ol' family" presentation just starts to look more and more distant from the truth.

Brothers of prominent South Carolina family speak out after 2 relatives found dead

This story is starting to resemble a giant sinkhole, leaving observers wondering: once everything lacking substance caves and the surface above tumbles down,... who all will be down in that hole and who will be left standing on solid ground.

This case just gets weirder and weirder. I wonder if the funeral home has a crematorium. Alex might have thought that it might come in handy.

Jailed SC lawyer Alex Murdaugh fronted $110K for a funeral home in 2020, documents show | The Island Packet, 27 April 2022

<snipped>
The funeral home, formerly Hall Jones and Brown Funeral Home, was purchased by Martin’s Funeral Home LLC owner John Martin. Martin also owns a funeral home in Estill, which is in Hampton County, where Murdaugh and his family have been lawyers for generations.

Documents show Murdaugh wired $147,000 on behalf of Martin from Palmetto State Bank to Southeastern Bank in Georgia on Jan. 7, 2020.

Russell Lafitte, the former CEO of Palmetto State Bank, who officials say oversaw cases in which Murdaugh allegedly stole millions from clients, signed off on this wire and a later one.

The filing says a review of Murdaugh’s financial records “does not indicate that John Martin has repaid Alex.”

It’s unclear how and whether this transaction is a part of Murdaugh’s litany of alleged financial crimes related to him stealing more than $4 million from clients and embezzling cash from a client trust account held by his former Hampton law firm.

<snipped>

Tuesday’s filing was made by a law firm representing the court-appointed co-receivers who were assigned to manage Murdaugh’s finances, while legal action is underway, and determine what assets and money Murdaugh has.

The law firm had served a subpoena to Martin, the funeral home owner, in January and February and sent a letter in March asking for a response but have not heard back, the filing says. … <snipped>

That interview was a joke. At one point not sure which one but he did a brotherly pat alluding to being sad and shedding tears. It was a red flag right up front regarding credibility. Staged in Murdaugh style.

That’s actually quite the bargain for good ole AM. Two houses, two specialty vehicles and a funeral home for little more than $100,000. Guess that would come in handy should one want to disappear a body or two. And maybe launder some funds while you’re at it. Plus what cop wants to be the insensitive schmo that pulls over a hearse? Fortunately I’ve never been in one but I bet they have some interesting hidey holes inside.

Lots of information coming out in the past few days, there is a restlessness about this case now, a gathering of momentum, could it be that an arrest/arrests for the murders are not far away?
I believe you are right. Momentum has picked up lately and they referred to test results that took 10 months to get back, so it makes sense.

In all of the craziness and unbelievable crimes of AM, there are still victims that need justice more importantly IMO.

Maggie Murdaugh Was ‘Lured’ To Moselle On The Night Of Her Murder, Sources Say
She was hesitant to go, but ultimately decided it was the right thing to do …

<snip>

Multiple sources close to the investigation have also confirmed to FITSNews that, prior to June 7, and at the time of her death, Maggie Murdaugh was living apart from her husband and alone at her Edisto Beach home.

FITSNews has been unable to independently confirm reports that Maggie met with a divorce attorney prior to the murders. However, a meeting like this would not have been inconsistent with what multiple sources have described as the strained status of their relationship — in part, because of a rumored affair Alex was having with another attorney.

Additionally, on the evening of June 7, Maggie drove to Moselle — the family’s 1,700-acre hunting property in Islandton, S.C. (about an hour and fifteen minutes from their Edisto Beach house) — because Alex had asked her to meet him there.

In other words, Maggie was “lured” to what would be the site of her murder, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.

These same sources say Maggie had expressed her hesitancy to meet with her estranged husband to at least three other people in her life, but ultimately decided it was the right thing to do.

It is unclear whether this information would have been contained on Maggie Murdaugh’s iPhone, which was found in the woods a short distance from Moselle on the day after the murders by investigators with the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office – and with help from Alex Murdaugh’s younger brother, John Marvin Murdaugh.

Paul Murdaugh’s phone was found with his body, sources say.

The reason Alex said he wanted his wife at Moselle: Randolph Murdaugh III was dying and Alex wanted Maggie to visit him and his mother, who has dementia, at their Varnville home, multiple sources have confirmed.

In the days following Maggie’s and Paul’s deaths, friends of Alex say he seemed focused on his loss of Paul – lamenting that because of what happened Paul would never be able to prove his innocence in the 2019 boat crash that killed 19-year-old Mallory Beach of Hampton, S.C.

The boat crash, in many ways, is at the heart of what many see as Alex Murdaugh’s unraveling.

In the weeks after the murders, it was also cited by multiple members of the Murdaugh family as the motive for the murders — hinting that Maggie’s and Paul’s deaths were a result of vengeance.

Multiple sources have told FITSNews that Maggie Murdaugh was not a fearful person, but she did not like staying at Moselle.

At the time of her death, Maggie had just completed a redecoration of her Edisto Beach home and was embarking on a project to make Moselle “more homey.”

There was no indication prior to her death that Maggie feared for her life or Paul’s life — especially as it relates to “revenge” for the boat crash or any other incident in which her sons might have been involved, according to multiple sources.

Friends of Maggie says that Paul and Buster were the center of her life. Multiple sources have told FITSNews that “Maggie Murdaugh lived for those boys.”

She knew of their whereabouts at all times, and they knew hers. In fact, Buster had an app on his phone that showed his mother’s location through her phone. It is this app that helped investigators locate her discarded phone in the woods.

On the day of her murder, she knew Paul — who worked that day at his uncle’s equipment rental shop and ate dinner with his uncle’s family at their home in Okatie — would be at Moselle that evening.

Paul left Okatie for Moselle at around 6:00 p.m.

Maggie is believed to have arrived at Moselle sometime between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m.

This new information helps shed light on some of the circumstances surrounding the murders.

Eta

Paul was killed with a shotgun, which caused multiple injuries. He, too, was shot in the head, according to his death certificate. He was killed with one round of birdshot and one round of buckshot, according to multiple sources.

So AM's only alibi, aside from taking his father to the hospital, is that he was with his mother (who has dementia and isn't a reliable source) in Varnville, less than 20 minutes away from Moselle. I am thinking the last thing to pin down is this timeframe...before his arrest. Ring cameras? Other CCTV along the route? Neighbors? Who else can be a witness to support or contradict this alibi?
