Thinking about the accusation that AM made about LE and the prosecutor's office not returning calls or requests to clear up the story...

Does that mean that his lawyers knew of the lie from last year when AM claims he wanted to meet LE/prosecutors?

Hopefully, we will see the receipts on that, either from defense or the state. And, the dates will be particularly interesting, if there were any reach outs.
It's possible -- LE knew at the latest, in June of 2022 that Alex had been at the kennels, because that's when news outlets started to report rumors that a video on Paul's phone put Alex at the kennels shortly before the murders. I don't find the idea that investigators wouldn't talk to Alex to be credible, though. Perhaps there were unacceptable conditions attached to the offer of a meeting.

Beyond crazy thinking, seems his only skill was schmoozing people.
Yes to both. He said he didn't even balance his checkbook, which made me laugh. His wife didn't handle any finances as far as I can tell either, which is how he got away with so much with home finances. Odd to me that she only had over $50 in her checking account as well. How could she not know that? He's very condescending to women, and not her place to know much it seems. Many Narcissists are charming, as they scam and steal from you while smiling.

One more instance of don't admit until they have the evidence. SMDH.

I agree, and also the Murder case had become paramount by then I think. As usual, I see it as Alex trying to Deflect once again.

I thought his wording was interesting (and entertaining)—something along the lines of “You didn’t accept my invitation to talk about this.” Right, because you’re the defendant; you’re not issuing invitations. You could, however, have used your legal representation to communicate appropriately with the state at any point. You could also have told the truth. At. Any. Point. It’s never his fault—he’d obviously have been truthful if Creighton had just given him the chance.

When you are dealing with an addict, you might start out angry but, ultimately, you move to other coping strategies---enabling, denying, accepting, bargaining, confronting, truth-telling, and passive confrontation (taking the substance). I suspect that the final month of their lives MM and PM had been changing tactics. AM admitted that he had bargained with PM that after the trial he would go to rehab, taking care of PM appears to be important but it was really just a stall tactic on his part. My guess is that both MM and PM didn't want to be alone and be around him because his drug usage and behavior was all encompassing. It is hard to live with an alcoholic/addict when they just keep getting worse. You either buy into their behavior or look the other way. Confronting is often fraught with lots of tension and anger. PM may have had high bp but I would guess that MM and PM being down at the kennel so close to after dinner had to do with avoiding AM. AM's guilt about his addiction and behavior is what made him always "do what Maggie wanted him to do" after he resisted. After they left the house, he probably realized that his drugs from the morning were gone. I believe he was enraged when he got down to the kennels. The chaos that was there was the first order of business. And, then he knew he had to have a fix, so where were his pills? The guns were probably in the golf cart.

AM's language around not killing them-- hurting them and that he would never is probably true when he was well-drugged, getting what he needed. The addicted monster is a hellish master. Getting those drugs at any cost was probably the initial goal.

IMHO

Well, I can tell you what he wasn't doing --

"Well, I can tell you what I wasn't doing -- I wasn't washing weapons and wrapping them in a blue tarp."

Say what?
Plenty of Motive, but not necessary, and SLED definitely messed up in some investigation. Bubba and Cash were were witnesses, but can't testify. Maggie's sister was credible in my mind as well, and now she will feel survivors guilt for telling Maggie to go home:(

I think he was looking for Paul’s phone, possibly pills to see what the communication was between Paul and Rogan. I also think that was the reason for the multiple calls to Rogan after the 911 call. MOO
Also to try to set up Rogan as the murderer.

Trying to set up PM calls to Rogan as indication of an alleged argument between the two or threats

Someone remind me why AM was staying in a hotel before returning to the home. Also was he alone at the motel? How far is that hotel from the home. Was this the night before? Did he mention or is it rumor he was detoxing there? Where did that baseball (?) game fit into this and who all went? My facts are getting twisted. Thx
My understanding from the testimony yesterday is that Alex and Maggie met Buster and Brooklyn for two baseball games a couple hours away from Moselle, in Columbia SC.

Maggie and Alex were staying in a hotel, and Buster and Brooklyn were staying at Brooklyn's place near the University of SC, where she was a law student at the time. There were two games, one on June 5th in the evening, and one on June 6th at noon. On June 6th, Alex had planned to go to the game, but was hungover/in withdrawal, and didn't want to go sit in the heat, so he requested a late check-out from the hotel and Maggie and Buster and Brooklyn went to the game (which started at 12:00). While they were at the game, the hotel kicked Alex out at the late check-out time (1:00). I don't know if he testified that he then went to the stadium to meet them, or if he did something else until the game was over.

Here's an article mentioning the two games: Baseball Falls to Old Dominion in Columbia Regional

With regard to how it fit in, I think that the texts from the game were included to show Maggie's awareness of Alex's drug problem, and perhaps also to establish more generally what they were doing in the days leading up to the murders.

I wish we could do a poll.
1. How long will the jury deliberate.
2. Guilty or Not Guilty.

It is a toss up to me. Sure, AM is a and a pathological liar. Does that mean he killed his wife and son? I don't see the evidence that is beyond a reasonable doubt.

No forensics
No weapon
No motive (?)
No witnesses

CW will pull a rabbit out of a hat if AM is convicted. Personally, I think he did it. But what will the jury do...the key point is the "236 steps" AM made at 9:04, what was he doing? He has no answer.

There are forensics or lack of forensics, the lack of blood on his shoes or any visible blood on him after saying he turned Paul’s body and checked both for pulses. It is literally impossible to have walked next to both bodies and not stepped on any blood and that not be transferred to the shoes he was wearing when 911 arrived. He did not check their pulses. I believe there was enough time for him to hose off and change clothes after the murder.

both defense and the state are in agreement it was the same type of weapons that the family owns.

His life was a financial dumpster fire that was about to burn the house down, a very common factor in family annihilator cases. Paul was a huge reason for the match being lit that was about to expose everything. AM’s life of deceit , stealing from the most vulnerable, some who were considered family, shows his absence of having a conscious, moral compass.

Yes he is a pathological liar but to lie about your wife and sons murder? Either way whether he had said he was at the kennel or not he was still going to be the last one to be with them. Why lie about that specific timeframe? Only the killer would know that they were dead prior to him leaving to go to Almeda. Why didn’t he say we were all down at the kennel and everybody was great when I left? He would have been helping the investigation by giving them an accurate time lie, instead he hindered it by lying.
MOO

I'm curious how Creighton knew Alex was going through withdrawals in Columbia the day before the murders. The texts between he and Maggie were not that specific.

Maybe Maggie's sister. Couldn't have brought it up because it would have been hearsay before. Now, he said he was withdrawing so it opens the door to hearing that maybe MM was doling out pills on that trip or he ran out which was why MM was worried about him.

Speculation
Did anyone see the bailiff approach the Judge at the end of the day yesterday.
Alex was escorted out thru a different door into a room behind the Courtroom. Many theorize he was to be searched or a drug test.
Snipped and BBM

As to the above bolded part, he sure sounds like he's been on a heavy coke binge. That sniffing is driving me up the wall, I'd rather listen to DH prattle on.
