Tampering Investigation Who? What? When? Where? We already know why!

I know this subject keeps coming up in this case, and it is truly scary how many of these sorts seem to keep coming out of the woodwork. But we need to be mindful that we keep trying to wrap our heads around or attribute normal motives to a host of individuals that obviously suffer from grossly dysfunctional personalities. The defendant herself is the best example of this, as is her lead attorney. LB is yet another case. She did this to attempt to fill some driving need for being the hero. For public acceptance in some way. It does not have to make sense to the rest of us. It never will truly make sense to the rest of us because it is broken and dysfunctional behavior. The best we can do is learn to recognize it when we see it.

Perfect! You hit the nail on the head with the "....driving need for being a hero. For public acceptance in some way."

That is the exact impression I got when it became clear that she tried one attempt after another to somehow get into the "inner circle" of this case...

Cheney Mason, Kelly Sims and Andrea Black are teaching Ethics in a continuing ed. seminar!!!!

Just shoot me!!!:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Mr. Mason better hope he isn't whining about he hasn't enough time to meet deadlines if he is instead out doing this. Good stuff. Thanks Amil! Maybe Mr. Mason is contemplating Baez's inevitable replacement. Mr. Sims , according to this would be well qualified and not making novice mistakes about discovery rules.

Do you all remember (a few court dates ago) when HHJP made an overly-large issue of bringing up a crack-pot type letter that someone had written and claimed to know who killed Caylee? He was able to extract an also overly-large response from CM regarding the large number of goofs who insert themselves into cases?

I don't remember all the details but CM assured the court he was aware of this particular letter and (because of his vast and renowned experience) could quickly discern between truth and fiction and ferret out this type of garbage.

At the time, I thought it was a strange thing to address during precious court time but now I'm wondering if HHJP was way ahead of everyone. Could it be that HHJP was letting CM know that he was aware of all this tampering, firing his warning shot and getting CM's assurance on court record that he knew how to separate the chaff from the wheat?

I DO recall this conversation....was last hearing KC attended I believe...and if memory serves me correctly, HHJP specifically reference the Curtis guy in prison....

Might have offered some comic relief to hearing if HHJP would have also referenced the letter from the guy who claimed to know "KC's virgina" too!

countrified colloquial armpits - I will never forget this...can't wait for Friday - how can I keep a straight face?

I'd also like to add that my impression is that while LB may or may not have actually intended to alter / change / tamper with search documents, there must a reason for her or ANYONE else to do so.

The only logical reason is to "help" KC.

There are a number of people that got caught up in the "mystery surrounding
a missing child" for various reasons. Not all of those reasons were altruistic.

We have seen ordinary folks that camped out in front of the Anthony home making life for anyone in that neighborhood miserable.

We have seen folks jump through hoops to give an interview when they had nothing of value to offer. An aside....have you ever noticed that the media plucks the MOST ridiculous people to interview? They never pick Joe business suit, they pick Joe Bob overalls and a dip in the mouth. JMO

I think it is too early to label LB as a perp with fraudulent motives. I am not saying it isn't the case, just that we don't know the whole story. LB was manipulated by someone(s). If she wasn't we never would have heard her name.

Think about it. How many TES searchers volunteered their assistance to the defense??? Did she? Who knows. How many volunteered their assistance to the SAO? Who knows.

What I am saying is that while LB may or may not have inappropriately handled docs......what possible motive would she have for doing that? Grab a soundbite on TV, score an interview with a local news station, maybe get a cameo on Nancy Grace....those would be motive for being vocal and inserting yourself into the case.

BUT, to tamper with a doc...allegedly....who has the real motive here???

Food for thought.

Bold mine.

If attention is your fix, often an attention seeker will go to great lengths to appear useful. That serves to prolong the attention. I think the facts show that LB went to pretty extreme lengths to involve herself in this case and keep herself "useful".

Would seem she first reached out to the defense with a bogus sighting of Caylee at Disney. Then she puts herself forward to Nejame as an "example for the public". Then gun totin, she volunteers for the big TES search. Then she contacts Baez and becomes a significant "good faith basis" for his TES record motion. Seems to me Laura wanted to be where the action was. Yes, she ended up being manipulated, because Baez, Mason, Lyon and Smith will see her destroyed before admitting they did anything unethical. It will all be on Laura.

But, sorry I have little sympathy with this lady or others like her. Because this is about a murder case. If not thwarted :floorlaugh:, would Laura have fessed up? Or would she have happily taken the stand?:waitasec:

It is also amazing how Laura downplayed her awareness of the case to Ann Pham in the recorded telephone call with LE.

She claimed at first, she happened to be in the Orlando area on vacation and saw a news program about TES requiring volunteers, and had no prior knowledge.

Ann saw through it :)

Yep that's right and didn't she also claim when she arrived at the TES command centre, (paraphrasing) that she had no idea that the mother of the missing child was a "person of interest".

Right...... and Elvis is working in my local chippy. :floorlaugh:

This woman is eerily like Casey Anthony when it comes to straight talking.

Someone clear this up for me: Was Kelly Sims LB's first or second attorney? And the guy from New Jersey was the other? Is that right? And Andrea Black is Kelly Sims' attorney?

I don't think so. I only know from my own experience of working with a Judge....things get filed in cases all the time. Letters from ... people:rolleyes:....which have to be made part of the court record. A judge really does not see the day to day filings in a case, until they are set for hearing. At that time, they review what is going to be brought in front of them at a hearing. If a....person:rolleyes:.... has written a letter and not being an attorney and not knowing that you need to "serve" the other side, the other side wouldn't know it was filed unless you have electronic filing which notifies all parties of something filed in a case and logged on the docket. If not, that would be the reason for Judge BP to bring it up in open court.

I hope this makes sense. Just trying to clarify that I believe JP is mostly only aware of what comes before him in the courtroom. Now, what is discussed in his chambers with staff....who knows? But I believe JP would want to remain neutral and not be aware of all of the extraneous fluff taking place in this circus.

GM
Kelly Sims was Joseph Jordan's first attorney. He is being represented since last year by William McClellan.

Buchanon's first attorney was Ray Brown from New Jersey. Her new attorney is Bernard Cassidy, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Wow, I'm glad I asked! Thanks! They've both gone through two attorneys!:waitasec:

OT: Again with the names! Two Sims two Blacks two Caseys no wonder I'm confuzzled.

especially like that part.
Yes, Food for Thought

And was it not just sickening how LB appeared to flirting with JB via email? Even JB appeared to get uncomfortable and stopped responding.

To paraphrase: LB sent two pics of herself. One of her alone and one with her daughter so JB could see who he is talking to. LB goes on and on about some searcher she claimed was there with her on Suburban and in an hour plus convo with this person, the alleged searcher had the gall to tell LB that LB was mistaken about the search and the defense would need a subpoena to talk to this alleged searcher. LB claims to have texts from this person and claims she can't send them via email so could she have JB's cell number? Gag! JB deflects this and says for LB to send the texts to his PI's cell phone refusing to give LB his digits. Then she emails back that she will forward the texts but somehow they will only show LBs information and not this alleged searcher that that she claims to have talked to and texted. So then exactly a week transpires and LB emails JB again saying she forwarded all of the texts to his PI and hasn't heard back from the PI. JB doesn't respond. then a month later LB emails again inquiring about JB's health and saying how mean the media is to him and that she has spoken with the PI for JB a few times but wants to know if that same PI got the awesome texts that she sent the PI even though she has been conversing with the PI. Obviously another pathetic attempt to IMO flirt with JB who again doesn't respond.

I have to wonder what LB's hubby thinks about this. It is so obvious that she just wanted JB's private number and to poorly attempt to flirt with him even though it was apparent he was not interested and kept deflecting her emails by not responding or telling her to talk to his private investigator.

Pathetic much?

Did ya see MuzikMan's post about Laura's Nov 17th depo having (66) exhibits!!!!
WOW! I wanna see what the exhibits are about!

MM said: "I did not get it yet; it is 261 pages (195 for depo, 66 pages of exhibits).

I'm not sure that WESH actually had it; no purchases show up on the Clerk's site. While I was there, the Sentinel reporter was reading it in the viewing room, but did not purchase it.

MM"
