An Austin man who pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and chasing a woman down the street until she broke her leg trying to fight back will avoid jail time under a plea deal arranged with Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza's office, according to court documents.

Antonio Cordero-Rios, 35, pleaded guilty in exchange for 10 years of probation and 200 hours of community service, court records show.

Meanwhile, just last month he had his GPS monitor removed in connection with a separate pending case in which he allegedly exposed himself to a woman and her nine-year-old son in July 2021.

Wow. Incredible he works his way thru the courts with basically no consequences to his perverse actions. I’m sure we will be reading more about him in the future. How scary for the woman who encountered him and ended up breaking her leg trying to escape. What would have happened if the Good Samaritan hadn’t intervened.

Wonder what would have happened if an early victim was a judge, judge's wife/mother/daughter, or someone with media presence? (Mayor's Mom, for example, jmho.)

Squeaky wheel & all.

Incarceration is expensive for taxpayers -- but plainly the courts have yet to find a dis-incentive for this character. Doesn't research show that many rapists start out with behaviors such as this?

Community service, well, OK, how about court-ordered therapy?

jmho ymmv lrr
