GUILTY TX - KayLee, 7, & Kenlie Henderson, 5, slain, Henderson County, 1 Nov 2017 *Arrest*

I heard on my local (Fort Worth) news today that she had planned this crime for two weeks. She planned on killing her husband also but he got the gun away from her. She had already killed her two little girls by then. It sounds pre-meditated so far. This is too early to accept as fact much of this reporting.

Capital murder suspect to appear in court on Friday

The first court appearance for a woman indicted on two counts of capital murder is scheduled for Friday.

“The Henderson County grand jury returned indictments against Sarah Nicole Henderson last week for multiple charges including ... attempted murder and assault on a public servant,” according to a press release from District Attorney Mark Hall. “A district court judge set her bonds at $1 million each on the two capital cases, along with $50,000 each on the other two” counts.

The cases have been assigned to Scott McKee's 392nd Judicial District Court. He has set the cases for formal arraignment and a pretrial management conference at 10 a.m.

A Mabank woman who is accused of shooting and killing her two children in November 2017 has been granted a competency hearing.

A judge granted that request and both councils will meet Monday to determine who will conduct the evaluation and what medical information will be released to the doctor.

7 On Scene: Murder suspect Gustavo Zavala-Garcia in court for hearing

Pretrial hearing, Judge Jack Skeen heard from DPS forensic expert Kristen Cossota via telephone. She said the first 24 samples being submitted for trace analysis have been completed. She said the final results on those samples will be ready in sixty days, or on about October 15.

Judge Skeen set the next pre-trial hearing for September 13. Then on October 18 there will be a pre-trial hearing for the final update on DNA testing. At that time it will be decided whether more DNA testing is needed.

The trial has been set for March 18, 2019.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas - An East Texas mother who is accused of shooting and killing her 2 daughters has been found competent to stand trial.

Henderson had been ordered to go under a psychiatric evaluation in April. The notice of insanity defense was given August 22.

A competency hearing was held today, in the 392nd District Court of Henderson County.

Judicial records say the trial will take place January 28, 2019 in Henderson County.

Next hearing is Motions hearing on 10/17
