Yes, Ben Franklins. Haven't seen anything about insurance policy. Everyone keeps mentioning Dr. Teresa Sievers' case and how similar it is to Missy's death. Unfortunately and regrettably, I did not follow Dr. Siever's case. I'm not even sure I am spelling her name correctly, so my apologies if I am not. Was the motive in the good doctor's murder money aka life insurance policies?

I have a question for the Texas sleuths. Heroin has been devestating many middle class communities across this country. It's being described as epidemic. Is that occuring in and around Red Oak, Midlothian, DFW, etc.? Thinking the perp may have been motivated by money for drugs.

I can't speak to Midlothian's drug problems or lack thereof, but in south Texas we have some pretty major drug problems. I hear more about meth busts and arrests than heroin, but pretty much any drug you can imagine is in the news often here due to a raid or gang activity. However, I live in a major city that is located less than 2 hours from the border with Mexico which causes unique problems. Midlothian's drug issues may be different. I haven't researched drug arrests in Midlothian.

I'm still catching up this morning but didn't want to forget to reply to this.

My first thought was why not DPD? I thought they would have more resources. But then someone else posted (sorry, can't remember who) about APD and why they might be assisting. I changed my mind about it being weird after looking into that a bit. I don't think it's weird anymore. I also do know from some of my CJ classes that APD requires a degree to work there, which is not the case for most other departments.

My opinion of it being weird was just a knee jerk reaction. I used to live in Arlington and it didn't seem so large to me back then.

Got it. I see what you're saying and totally understand. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some conflict of interest or something else I had missed. Thanks!

I saw a headline on FB feed this morning. I follow all of the local news stations but I cannot find it now. I am sure it was probably posted already. But it said investigators would be taking the weekend OFF to rest up to be ready for Monday because they have been pulling such long hours in this case. A) do you recall hearing this before in any case? I mean I am sure people get weekends off but I don't recall there being a public announcement of such B ) could that be a ploy to lull the perp into thinking she has fooled them and are still at square one?
Also there is a local group IIRC called ' Major Crimes Task Force' ( this is not the right name, I cannot find it ) . It is not for every case for sure but it is a pool of investigators from several local towns and they work together , despite jurisdiction, on individual cases . I would think, but not sure , that it is like ' specialists' in this or that area that come together to solve crimes. I cannot remember what local case they did that caught my eye but it was the first I had heard of such a group . ( possibly alanna gallagher )

ETA ^^^ Wondering what criteria must be met to get this group involved. I am googling and not finding the specific name.

ETAA Ok I found it , it's in Tarrant County called Major Case Investigative Team. But while googling, I see this is pretty common across the country and wonder if there is such a group in the Ellis / Dallas arena. Sorry for the bumbling, guys.

Tarrant co is Arlington and I get the impression now that is why they are now involved.

There was s a photo on his FB with two of his daughters and a boy. It's an older picture but I believe maybe it's a son from a previous marriage. JmO

Respectfully SBM. I have followed cases for more than 15 years now. Usually if someone is overkilled ( one method could have killed but murderer kept attacking) and damage to identity (face heavily damaged or other distinguishing aspects attacked) the murderer is known to them.

Usually, not always but usually, when identifying areas are attacked, it's personal. Anger makes the killer want to remove the victim and that includes their identity.
If it's a stranger, for example if Missy truly just interrupted a burglary, the perp's motivation is to stop the witness so killing them once suffices.

One fact has always stuck with me: even though the police arrived within minutes of Missy's attack there was no attempt to revive her. There was nothing they could do and she was obviously passed.

And before people bring up the initial report of her being unresponsive, the 911 operators said the same thing about Prince, even though the person calling in told them he was dead, not just unresponsive. This appears to be a standard for 911 operators.

does anyone know if it was an open casket service? If not that might be an indication of how much damage was done. Bless her heart I just get so angry when i think about this case... grrrr..

Also, would someone screen shot that story about the Eagle's wife.

If I was still living there I would drive up 287 and look at the intersection of Walnut Grove and 287. I hope there is a traffic cam. If the perp headed back towards Midlothian/Mansfield/ Arlington surely they got her car on video. The other direction has an exit at 77 for main street in Waxahachie, lets hope she went the other way.

Praying for a miracle in the LE's work to catch this creep..

Has anyone asked if maybe the perp was actually in LE, and not just wearing the tactical suit for cover? I would definitely want an outside LE agency investigating the crime if that is even a remote possibility. Is there any reason to believe that may be a possibility? I hate to even think it but can we really rule it out?

Or a family member of real LE. Jealous spouse? LE on duty when Missy is murdered wearing his gear? Just a thought.

Somebody mentioned here that BB was in Mississippi on a 'bucket list' fishing trip that was going to be canceled due to weather but happened anyway. Was he there with friends? Has law enforcement confirmed that BB was indeed in Mississippi during the murder? I have not heard actual confirmation although I am sure it is forthcoming. Also, is it true that BB drove all the way from Mississippi in a rental car with Mississippi plates to get home instead of flying? That's about a 9 hour drive. Can someone confirm that? Is that one of the things BB mentioned in a press conference? Want to separate fact from fiction. And holy cow, I would not be able to make that drive under those circumstances.

BB stated in the second to last presser I believe that he drove back from the trip Ina rental car and that it had Mississippi plates which I do not get. WHY drive, why not fly? That really bothers me and I personally can not imagine driving back for 8.5 hours. I know that even if every flight was booked the airline would have bumped a passenger to get him home immediately.

Our weather changes by the minute. We don't ever have four seasons like everyone else.... One minute it's hot and we wear flip flops, the next it's cold and we are in heavy coats.

Lately the weather in our area has been rainy and stormy which has brought cold fronts from time to time. Right now, it's not very hot but it's not cold either. Just SUPER humid.

Wait.... I just noticed something. That Door opens OUT into the Hallway also. I KNOW the doors in the Room next to the Kitchen with the interior door inside to the room. BB's strangest posting to me is one we haven't discussed on here. It's dated March 7. He writes "as strange as it seems, I was laying in bed thinking about Randy Meisner last night. I have no idea why he came to mind. I was thinking about 'Take it to the Limit,' and other stuff. I was floored when I heard this story. At no other time has the guy came to mind to me. Kind of strange."

Then he links a story with the headline: "Eagles' Co-Founder Randy Meisner's Wife Shot Dead."

Now, I am not speculating or suspect BB. I just want help deciphering and understanding that post bc it seemed odd to me. I hope I'm not breaking any rules asking about that. I did read the updated rules, but my brain is one big fog right now. lol

I have 4 children. I have never misspoke and said 3 or 5. I don't understand that. But maybe he was thinking 3 and 4 just came out. Possible.

Could be a leak. He may have a child from a previous or current relationship.

There is a photo on Creekside's FB page of an outdoor festival event (I don't want to post it here because many of the church members can be seen). Anyway, you can see the gun store building in the background of that photo very easily so it's definitely not far enough to be out of direct sight of the church. Just an observation (FWIW) since we have heard that the gun store's cameras are where MB's truck was seen arriving at the church.

I offered to access the dispatch feeds and have figured out that 911 calls from Midlothian would go to North Ellis Emergency Dispatch, but I cannot figure out which feed that would be on RadioReference.com. There are three for that area---none identified as North Ellis Emergency Dispatch---and I've listened to them for the 4 o'clock through 6 o'clock a.m. hours for April 18, but it is all radio silence. I'll keep plugging away, I reckon.
