TX - Terri 'Missy' Bevers, Dallas 18 Apr 2016 Media & Timeline *NO DISCUSSION*

Friday, police released new clues: this picture of the Nissan Altima police are looking for, and more details about the person in SWAT gear -- police say he or she is 5'2 to 5'7.

In this tight-knit community, even those who didn't know her, like the McCann family, who've lived here for 34 years, grieve for the Bevers family, and wait for answers.

In the latest news conference, police said at this point, none of Missy’s family, friends or coworkers are considered suspects. Brandon says no one should take that as meaning anybody has been cleared.
"It's just like the officer said today when I met with them; myself and everybody else in this investigation, despite the fact that they've come out and said they're no longer suspects doesn't mean they've been eradicated from the investigation because the door has to remain open,” Brandon said. "Once they've scoured the field they should never close the door, you know."

After her death, a second account was created using Bevers' name and image, police said. The fake account sent friend requests to people Bevers knew, including students of her Camp Gladiator fitness class and her mother-in-law, police told NBC News.

Police said they have been trying to find the person responsible for the account, which has since been taken down.

"[The] best we can tell so far, the profile is gone, which means a dead end for us," Midlothian Assistant Police Chief Kevin Johnson told NBC News.

Investigators said the account may have been a scam, glitch or even a joke.

“Several associates of the victim received friend requests from a fake Missy Bevers Facebook page over the weekend,” assistant police chief Kevin Johnson said in a press release Friday. “The profile was deleted shortly after those requests went out, and before enough information could be captured to serve the legal process for more information. We know of about half a dozen confirmed requests that were received, and have heard of more.”

“The national exposure this week generated approximately 50- plus or -minus new tips. All are similar to tips received locally during early stages of the investigation,” Johnson said.

The police have received between 1,100 and 1,200 leads at this point, he said.

“We do still have several leads that we are working, some are new,” Johnson said. “I prefer not to disclose those or characterize them in any specific way.”

Investigators are still waiting on DNA testing of a woman's shirt Bevers' father-in-law, Randy Bevers, dropped off at a Midlothian drycleaners in the week following her death. The white button-down shirt appeared to have bloodstains on it.

“We have not received test result on the bloody shirt,” Johnson said. “We have been informed by the lab that testing will begin in early June.”

The day is coming

This is an open letter to the person who murdered Missy Bevers:

So, it’s been almost five full weeks since you took the life of Missy Bevers. In that time you’ve probably had moments of actually believing you got away with murder, but let me offer you a dose of reality. Whether it has been five weeks or five months, your day of reckoning is approaching. I’m certain, as are thousands of local readers of our newspapers, the police know far more about you than any of us know and certainly far more than you think they know. They’re no dummies nor are they willing to compromise capturing you by working any way but methodically.
