TX TX - Theresa 'Teri' Jones, 17, Brazoria County, Sept 1980

@Karenjones
If you ever post about this again, maybe give the
address or nearest intersection near where your
sister lived, & the nearest intersection near to where
she was meant to be driving to (or the actual address,
if Theresa's sister, Brenda, doesn't still live there).

She had a big family. I am the baby out of 9 children. She was 17 when she disappeared. Brazoria County Police Department considered her as a runaway. So they did not file nothing on her. My father left whenever I was 2 years old. So of course he wasn't around.
There was never an official missing persons report filed on her?

Curious...why do they not know if her car was an Impala or a Nova? I know they sort of resemble each other but wouldn't her relatives know? Insurance? Bill of sale? And it was never found? I also read that for a while, no one was sure which high school she attended. Was she not living with her family? Does LE believe she is still alive somewhere, hence the lack of publication of her case? The fact that it is believed that her sister's murder is somehow connected to Theresa's disappearance is just so intriguing. I can't find anything online on Gina. I thought I saw somewhere that she had a daughter, but I can't remember where I saw it. There is something about this case that I feel like could so easily be solved.
She attended Alvin High School.

Theresa was last seen in Alvin, Texas sometime in approximately September 1980. She lived in the 1800 block of Highway 6, near the city of Alvin.

Theresa's sister, Brenda, was in Houston, Texas and was expecting Theresa to go there and give her a ride home, but she never arrived and has never been heard from again.

They do not know because they were young they were barely teens them selves. They are taking the facts they know to be true and the things that they can remember. I mean think about it do you know exactly what your mother drove in 1980? I don’t and be fair at the time they were probably too busy trying to understand that their sister went missing.

*Brenda Jones Drawhorn, 15, was expecting Jones
to pick her up in the Houston area in September 1980.
*Drawhorn was at the time, living at the (Houston)
Florence Crittenton Unwed Mothers Home.

The news article also includes 'contributed' pictures
of Jones and a 'contributed' picture that appears to
be of the car that Jones was driving and intended
to buy from her sister-in-law.

The news article quotes Drawhorn as identifying this
car as a 1967 or 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle. The news
article
picture appears in fact to be of a 1967 or 1968
Chevrolet Caprice or (more likely) Chevrolet Impala,
2 door Custom Coupe (Non-Fastback, Formal roofline).

Code:

(1968) "The Caprice Coupe got serious competition
when Chevrolet offered the car's formal roofline in
the Impala series as well."
Code:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Impala_(fourth_generation)#
(1968) "The formal Custom Coupe, previously a
Caprice exclusive, became available as an Impala."

It is not a 2 door Chevelle Coupe as although 1966 &
1967 2 door Chevelle Coupes had a somewhat similar
roofline to the Impala Formal roofline, those Chevelle
Coupe years had noticeably different (rear) quarter
panel glass.
Also, 2 door Chevelle Coupes of following years 1968,
1969, 1970, etc., did not have a 'Formal'-like roofline
but rather had a roofline almost the same as the
Impala Fastback roofline top which flows down in an
unbroken line onto the rear deck.
Below is a 1967 2 door Chevelle Coupe,

the 1968 and later Chevelle year images can be
seen here;

Other identifing features to note in the news article
picture are a barely discernable possible 'Caprice'
or (more likely) 'Impala' badge on the front fender
forward of the door and the present triangular vent
window which seems to have been deleted on the 69-on
models. It's hard to tell from the article picture but
there may also be a side reflector strip on the rear
quarter panel immediately forward of the rear metal
bumper, such side reflectors appearing on the 1968
2 door Chevrolet Impala Custom Coupe (Formal
roofline), (but possibly might have appeared on very
late 1967 model?, although I found no examples of any
2 door 1967 Impala Custom Coupe (Formal roofline)
with side reflectors on its' rear quarter panel).

(Incidently, there can be found a picture of a red,
original 2 door 1968 Chevrolet Impala Custom Coupe
with Formal roofline on red-dit, which is an exact
match to the news article picture).

-----

As regards the place Jones was driving to when she
departed from Alvin and disappeared, the news
article
suggests she may have intended to visit
friends in Montrose (Houston) and/or as previously
noted, to pickup Brenda Jones Drawhorn from the
Florence Crittenton Unwed Mothers Home (Houston)
in September 1980.

The Florence Crittenton Unwed Mothers Home
(Houston) was subsumed by the DePelchin Faith
Home and Children's Bureau in 1982;

At present it is unknown what exact address it was
that the Florence Crittenton Unwed Mothers Home
(Houston) occupied in 1980.

Looking at the photo above it seems to me that the car was indeed green - at least when the photo was taken - possibly the same colour as this one below. A primer grey car would not have reflected the light like the photo provided above.

I'd say that the car is almost certainly an Impala Custom and you can see the badge in the photo below and the one provided above on the fender just in front of the door line.

This was a very popular car when new so it will be a challenge to trace what happened to it.
