I think the fact she was incapacitated means he did rape her? What a vile little thing this defence lawyer.And yet so much of the evidence the prosecution have called proves simply, does it not, that he could have raped her, that he could have killed her. Not that he did. But that he might have done. Which I am afraid is not enough. “
Mr Saxby told the court there was no
evidence of violence after Libby's body was found.
“There is no evidence of any sort of violent attack – right down to each of her thin hooped earrings being in place and her delicate...neck chain intact when her body was found,” he said.
The court also heard how the butcher would need to be a “fast runner indeed” to have killed Libby then dumped her in the river – all in seven and a half minutes.
