Deputies believe men accused of murdering Estela Torres are in Mexico

Aug 12, 2019

"FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - It's been five months since the murder of Estela Torres, allegedly killed by her estranged husband and son. With the recent death of a Prosser woman, believed to have been murdered by her husband, community members are asking "Where is Estela Torres?"

According to Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond, he says her body is somewhere in Connell. As for the suspects, Tiburcio Larios Rodriguez and Clemente Rodriguez-Torres, Raymond said they are believed to be in Mexico.

Raymond told KAPP-KVEW the suspects have a home down there. Right now, the FBI is handling the investigation in order to locate them in Mexico and bring the suspects back to Franklin County.

Torres was violently murdered in her home in March. The suspects allegedly took her car with her body in it. Days later, her car was found at a rest stop with blood in the trunk. Torres was not inside, and her body remains missing.
In June, one of her sons was arrested in connection to the murder -- Carlos Rodriguez Torres. The case was dismissed. The prosecutor's office said more evidence would be necessary before bringing him to trial...."
