The remains of Lesley were not found after an extensive search of a rubbish tip less than a month after Ms Trotter disappeared.

In this other case a woman in Canada who went missing in 2020, remains have been found in a city landfill.
It did take them three months of searching starting this May to find her.

What a great job they did to find her!!

Eerie that her name was Trottier……. So similar name to our missing lady, Ms Trotter!!

But what a cost to find that missing lady…

“McBride said an estimated $1.5 million was spent on the landfill search. Police have asked for funding support from the federal and provincial governments, he added.”

Coroner unable to determine cause of death of Brisbane woman Lesley Trotter, who ended up in a suburban wheelie bin

“A Queensland coroner has ruled Brisbane woman Lesley Trotter is dead, almost two years after her mysterious disappearance outside her suburban home.

Trotter, 78, was reported missing from her Toowong unit in March 2023.

At the time, police determined that she had been inside a wheelie bin on Clayton Lane when it was collected by a rubbish truck on the morning of Tuesday, March 28.”

"Coroner MacKenzie found that Ms Trotter is deceased but the cause of her death remains undetermined.”

'It is well known that if residents [in her neighbourhood] put their bins out and there was recycling in the general waste bin then she would want to correct that,' he said.

'There were some people that were unhappy about that process.

'We have not ruled out that this activity is in some way linked to her death.'

Finished listening.

There's no mention of the fact that Lesley Trotters body had been in the bin.

Queensland Police Service (QPS) said they had "evidence" her body was in a wheelie bin, which was picked up by a rubbish truck the day she was reported missing.
Findings have gone to the family but are not on the Coroner's Court of Queensland website. Perhaps the findings report evidence that she was actually in the bin. (I still think maybe she wasn't.)
