A teacher accused of stabbing his principal in an unhinged frenzy lost his mum in the strangest of circumstances when he was just a child.

Kim Ramchen, 37, of Mulgrave is accused of attacking Keysborough Secondary College principal Aaron Sykes in a frenzied attack as school broke up on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, he appeared before Dandenong Magistrates' Court where horrifying allegations of the attack were aired.

He was a child of tragedy, then an academic star. Now, Kim Ramchen – the son of a millionaire once suspected in his model wife’s disappearance – stands accused of stabbing his school principal, bringing his family name back before the courts.
