John Gotti behaved himself in lockup, too. This shows me nothing!
Exactly. I just hope her "gift" of short sentencing (which baffles me beyond belief) will rehabilitate her and taxpayers will not have to pay for another round of incarceration once she's released and revisits her "bad" behavior when granted freedom to make choices. Please do not give her an early release. She's clearly a danger to society.

She will find some other way to misbehave-maybe like the way her mom got in trouble. Jeez, do I ever want the IRS to audit all of these people!

Update: No response yet from States Attorney handling this case as to whether either she or Judge revoked any CT Gun License for the perp. Not holding my breath for a response as I don't think it will ever arrive but I will check the record next week and see if there is anything available to confirm the status of firearms in the house and Perp Gun License. What a State that such questions even have to be checked.
No update.

Don't think it will ever happen.

MT carries somewhere in her brain some ideas about the events of the day JFD disappeared.

I think back to the pleas of JFD's children at the sentencing when they implored her to share what she knows about JFD's disappearance and/or implied she might have information to help locate their mother.

How can MT brightly celebrate her daughter's accomplishments and pat herself on the shoulder for her child's accomplishments?! Such a stark contrast to the FD children's lives. Their mother was torn from their lives no longer able to guide and share in their young adulthood.

I certainly agree with LosAngeles. MT deserves to serve a long sentence. Perhaps it will improve her memory. Am sure she's always ready to "make a deal."

Current Status of “Ineffective Counsel” claim:
Both sides rested their cases on January 13, 2026. Final legal briefs are due by April 20, 2026, after which Judge Carl Schuman will have 120 days to issue a ruling on whether to vacate her conviction, so sometime in August (or maybe sooner?)

In the meantime, she is still locked up, at least

Probably not but they found a body less than two miles away (driving) from his Farmington house they were cleaning the truck at. Only 0.5miles through the woods….

Hoping for closure.

Appears the victim has been identified-- from OP's quoted link:

Police have identified the victim as 29-year-old Derick William Mercado-Labonte.

The incident, which occurred before a visit with a family member on May 5, 2025, left Troconis shaken, the report said. When interviewed, Troconis told Ward she felt disrespected by the guard and that correction officers often make "demeaning" comments to female prisoners during the searches...

The guard who conducted the strip-search was "educated" on the policy, but not disciplined or "counseled," according to Ward. Her justification for the pre-visit search was that Troconis was out of her cell before a head count of the facility was complete, the report said. However, Ward concluded that the count had been completed before Troconis showed up in the area for the visit and it wasn't her fault that an announcement resuming normal activities wasn't made at the appropriate time.

The DOC officials said last year when asked about the incident that they had recently been approved for body scanners, which they said would significantly reduce the need for strip-searches at prisons with particularly vulnerable populations…

Client Challenge
From the quoted link:

DOC officials said Monday that the agency will refrain from comment until they have provided Ward with a response to the report.

Troconis said through the prison's messaging system that Ward took her concerns seriously.

"Once I first contacted him in May 2025 regarding the unlawful strip-search he opened an investigation and he came to visit and get my testimony, he was on the case until the final report," Troconis said.

MT is so predictable! After she was searched by a female guard, how lucky for MT that her dad and sister contacted Ombudsman Ward on her behalf. At least the report showed MT was not singled out (for body search) on the date in question. JMO

“Particularly vulnerable populations”? What do they mean? Are they saying women are particularly vulnerable? How about just stay out of prison?! That’s a good way to avoid a strip search! And imagine guards not respecting inmates-what’s next?

No reason, but would this be an appropriate time to mention the suddenly-modest inmate's bedoir portrait?
