Edward Cruey, 55, has his family worried that he may not be alive.

Richmond County deputies say his wife told them Eddie was going out of town for Thanksgiving to see a friend and he may not return to Augusta. There's a troubling history between Eddie and his wife. Eddie was missing for almost a month and his wife never reported it to police. His father and step-mom did when they came for Christmas. Richmond County investigators are on this case, but they will not say if it's suspicious.

It's a tricky history. In July, deputies arrested Dales. They say she hit her husband in the head with a hammer. The incident report describes her saying "they'd both be sleeping with a knife," and that Eddie hit her with a towel and threatened to kill the dogs. A family friend says Eddie didn't want to press charges.

Neighbors say the couple drank a lot and they heard screaming from the house. Family and friends say Dales has stopped talking to them since Christmas.

"There's been some inconsistencies in her stories,” the family said. “She told the family one thing and told investigators something else."

Dales did tell them Eddie left on foot with a sleeping bag and $200. His family fears the worst.

Friends and family of Edward Cruey still on the search of his whereabouts

Cruey's family has been in constant contact with those who know him such as his wife who they say hasn't been cooperative. "She just like shows no emotion and she won't answer direct questions. You know, you would think she would say, 'if you find out anything let me know,'" said Cruey's step-mother, Kelly Cruey.

This concerns them. They also say several of Eddie's belongings has been thrown out of his house and dogs have been moved in for reasons they don't understand.

His family last spoke with him on Nov 19th, so not sure the last "sighting" that news reports is relevant. Of course we often get different bits from different MSM and it's sometimes hard to put it all together.

The last time Edward’s family heard his voice was on November 19, but they weren't aware he was missing until recently. “During that time my husband kept saying, I haven’t heard from Eddie, I tried calling him. I’ve tried texting him, he’s not gotten back with me,” Kelly Cruey, Edward Cruey’s stepmother said.

They were concerned. But Eddie’s family wasn’t just hearing from him, they also weren’t hearing from his wife. “She said on November 23rd, he had a sleeping bag, a pair of jeans, $200 and told her not to look for him and contact his family.” When they heard that, they thought it was quite unusual that she still never contacted the police. “After three weeks, if you care about somebody you file a missing person’s report whether they get mad at you or not. They’ll get over it, or they won’t," Kelly Cruey said with concern.

(Sigh). It boggles the mind. Why continue a relationship where both individuals feel so unsafe that they are each going to sleep with nearby weapons???

Here’s a novel concept; how about breaking up, instead of allowing it to escalate to this level of violence??? MOO.

Toxic.
Does not sound very hopeful for Edward.

Holy Mackerel! That was one crazy marriage. So he was going to walk with his sleeping bag, a pair of jeans and $200 to a friend's house? Wonder how far away the friend lived. I love the nice little touch that he was suppose to have said, “tell my family to not come looking for me.” That sure sends up a red flag, for sure.

This has foul play written all over it, sorry to say. I wonder if he was getting Social Security and if the checks are being cashed. JMO

Lisa Sistare-Harkins, who said she last spoke with her friend back in November said, "I asked him if he and his wife wanted to go over for Thanksgiving dinner. He said no that they were good and they were just going to eat at the house. And that was the last time I talked with him,” she said.

She also said if he was trying to leave on his own, the first place he would have gone, is her home.

“So, I called his dad in Virginia and his dad said that they hadn’t heard from him either since right before Thanksgiving,” Sistare-Harkins added.

“His wife never filed a missing persons report,” she said. “At the time his father and stepmother came down he had been missing three weeks. She had not filed a report. When they went to the house and asked her where he was all she said was he left to go have dinner with a friend for Thanksgiving and he didn’t come back. The friend he would have been going to have Thanksgiving dinner with probably would have been me.”

WOW not suspicious at all @@!!!
I am hoping the police will take the mattress and see if they find any evidence in it.

Wait, she hits him in the head with a hammer and the cops let him not press charges? And now his personal items are outside the house? Is that what that picture showed?

If someone hit me in the head with a hammer or ever threatened to harm one of my dogs, they would no longer exist in my life.

Everything about this seems shady. Very sad if it turns out to
Be Eddie, but I expect it will be.

Kinda strange it took almost a month to find a body at the residence where he was last seen.

I'm glad the dogs weren't harmed.

Wife will likely spend the rest of her life in prison and rightfully so, if she did this.

It looks like the wife just threw out his possessions. No red flags there. . . . I am glad he has been found for closure for those that loved him.

Body found at Eddie Cruey’s home, not identified yet

BBM

It’s been close to three months since Lisa Sistare-Harkins last spoke with her friend of 40 years, Eddie Cruey. And now, a possible break in the case sent her back to the home where the 55-year-old lived with his wife.

“I got a message early this morning that she had confessed that she had killed him and he is buried somewhere here on the property,” she told us.
