omigod lol...I didn't mean to open up a can of worms. I NEVER thought she committed suicide. I also don't believe she ran into the woods and perished from hypothermia. I was just making a random observation about her withdrawing money .

there are some that do think it was intentional suicide, honestly I think the simplest theory says that she was followed up there and she left the scene with this person...thinking she would come back the next day when she was sober and face any possible music regarding her accident. She didn't hurt anyone and the car was off to the side. If there were any open containers or other things in the car that might point to drunk driving they still would not have her blood alcohol from the previous night.

I always believe she was murdered by someone she knew. mOO

I have no firm theories on what happened. but the main reason I don't discount the suicide theory is that her dad Fred sort of indicated right at the start that is what he feared. that did not last long, but if you look at the very first interviews with him, he brings it up and delivers a sort of a "come home Maura, we can work it out" message. she was very close to her dad, so I think suicide theory deserves some thought.

That comment by Fred wasn't in reference to a potential suicide, it was in reference to Maura running away.

actually I thought it was because of a book Maura had about Native American women or something like that. mOO

We don't even know where she got off from the highway (I-91) assuming she went up that way. The full tank aside, there's a missing hour that's still not accounted for. There's too many unknowns overall.

As far as I know, police weren't able to find any surveillance cameras (CCTV footage) of her after the money withdrawal in Amherst, MA and if they have they never revealed anything about it publicly. The investigation was sketchy in the beginning so it's possible they didn't even bother looking for surveillance cameras.
True, the exact route she took from Amherst to Haverhill NH isn't known but involving I-91 and/or Route US 5 would be by far the most likely ...though there are a choice of exists and could have used of course. That "missing hour" has also long intrigued me. Getting gas could make up for some of it, but probably not all of it.

As for CCTV footage, let's remember the video of her using the ATM machine in Amherst wasn't made known for some time either. It's entirely possible more exists that's never been revealed by authorities....however, I do think authorities might have something a bit less direct like video, such as credit card records of gas purchases after leaving MA or ...some other indirect evidence, like a card not in her name being used to get gas (and thus it's not certain but suspected of being her)....idk, it's just speculation on my part of course, but that missing hour, the seemingly unaccounted for gas filling, the SUV seem by one witness at the scene parked 'nose to nose' with Maura's car ....a lot more behind this case I feel, and not just a few details kept as police typically do, but things of considerably more substance. After all, they kept the finger print find on the CD a secret for many years...
