Did I just read a woman who is raising two other children put a four month old in the tub with water running? She left the bathroom to get older child ready for school?

The father went to go to the bathroom and finally noticed his baby was under the water.

She had either the audacity or she has one brain cell telling LE she does it because the baby liked it?

Oh and she was warned by her ex's girlfriend how dangerous that was.

I read that? Dalton was a gorgeous baby. He got handed two parents who are negligent, and a danger to any child who passes their way.

No clue if a “bathing seat” was involved here, but I believe they’re still sold in the US. It is basically a Bumbo with suckers on the bottom to keep it upright. (A Bumbo is a sort of baby chair some parents use for a baby who can’t yet sit up fully). The problem, of course, is that the suckers can become detached and the chair flips. The bigger problem, of course, is that no chair is a substitute for actual supervision but we all know that many parents use Bumbos, Dockatots (banned in Canada), positioners etc in dangerous ways.

Again, no clue is if a tub chair was used here…4 months would be the age a parent might start using a chair and it was my first thought.

This is unbelievable to me. None of us are perfect parents. Kids or babies have accidents. To leave a four month old in a tub with the water running? Seat or no seat. That new life preserver that goes around an infants neck? No.

You should be within arms reach of a child in the tub. The water should not still be running. What if suddenly went to hot? A child can be scalded.

There's no doubt these parents feel beyond awful. Avoiding the accident if possible is the key.

This is a sin. Lovely baby. Just so sad.

Nooooo he liked being in the tub with the water running. There for the Grace of God go I, but my great grandmother's saying "God watches over drunks and babies" ain't flying in the last few years.

Trying so bad not to judge. Ain't been there, but two adults? Three kids? Put Dalton in the tub later. Supervised.

Mom has quite a few AKA 's. Don't make you a bad person. Just saying.

I completely agree with you and really they should know better especially if they have other children.it is common sense! My daughter is five and can swim in a pool without a floatation device and yet still in the bathtub l never leave her side same goes with the pool. At those moments in time nothing is more important or requires your attention more than that child in water. I could understand glancing away for a moment and an accident happens but to leave altogether is just unfathomable.
