He suffocated kaylee… and blunt force injuries means he could have physically beat her too. So did he put the knife down at some point? Or she managed to knock it out of his hand .. it also explains how the sheath could have been dropped.
Bbm.
Was always curious about that, as wouldn't most wear the sheath on their belt, hence it wouldn't have been dropped ?
Did he have it in a jacket/pants pocket ?
Thankful it was found !!!!
Imo.

Good catch, I completed glossed over the asphyxiation part. It does seem like that may have been when the sheath was dropped and forgotten.

It was rude when Thompson said that making a decision about the plea wasn’t about a popularity contest. It seems like he wanted to vindicate himself and I think that he cowardly used that time to do so. It wasn’t the time or place for him to defend himself.

He said that he informed each family of it but the Goncalves said he didn’t?
I agree, I also felt that was remark was rude. I said earlier today (so forgive me for repeating this) that I thought Thompson was leaning heavily into the “we don’t have the power to force him to say anything” as part of his plea. While that’s technically true, they could’ve put in the agreement that BK had to wear purple socks for the rest of his life - it’s an agreement between both of the parties and they put what they want into it. The Goncalves family highlighted the other cases by Thompson where he agreed to lesser charges/sentences/a plea, and I agree when you look at his history it appears to be a pattern, not an outlier.

Also, just FYI I was using an absurd example to try and make my point about it the plea agreement details. I think their (Goncalves family) frustration was because it seemed like the prosecution didn’t even try to get anything in the plea agreement that would’ve offered any sort of the details that the families were looking for. And as the Goncalves family said this outside the courthouse today, he could’ve shared things like the murder weapon’s location that could be looked into and investigated- essentially neutralizing Thompson’s rebuke that “well he wouldn’t tell us the truth anyway”.
