Rapper Bow Wow, 31, Arrested in Atlanta for Allegedly Assaulting Woman

A public information officer with the Atlanta Police Department tells PEOPLE in a statement that officers were called around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police spoke with a woman identified as Leslie Holden, who said that she had been assaulted by the rapper, authorities said.

The rapper, 31, went on to tell police that Holden had assaulted him, according to the PIO.

“Both parties did sustain visible minor injuries. Officers were unable to determine the primary aggressor of the altercation, so both parties were charged with battery,” the statement read.

“Both parties are being processed and will be transported to Fulton County Jail,” police added.

Bow Wow Says He Was 'Wrongfully Arrested' for Assault and Claims Ex 'Beat' Him with Lamp

“Shad Bow Wow Moss was wrongfully arrested earlier this morning for the first time after being beaten by an out of control intoxicated female, Ms. Leslie Holden, in an Atlanta condominium,” Bow Wow’s lawyer, Joe Habachy, wrote in a statement provided to PEOPLE on Saturday.[...]

Both Bow Wow (née Shad Moss) and Holden (who goes by the name Kiyomi Leslie professionally) were arrested and transported to Fulton County Jail on Saturday. According to online jail records, both were released later on Saturday on $8,000 bonds.

Bow Wow’s lawyer said in his statement that “the only two independent witnesses both corroborated his version of events indicating that Ms. Holden was simply out of control and was without a doubt the primary aggressor.”
