Queensland police said they were investigating “the sudden deaths” of the two boys, aged two and three, after they were discovered in Woorabinda on Friday night.
Police said the two-year-old boy was found in a vehicle parked on a street in the town of about 1,000 residents.
He was taken to the Woorabinda hospital just before 8pm (AEST), where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Police said they attended the address where the two-year-old was found at 9:15pm and found a three-year-old boy in a car.
“The child was taken to hospital, where he also was pronounced deceased,” police said in a statement.
Police were expected to provide more information later on Saturday.
The Indigenous community is located about 170km south-west of Rockhampton.
