Actually just wondering about that, does he have to complete his punishment part before he's eligible for day release?

Honestly no-one knows and I am going by sweet Mikaeel kular’s so called care giver whom was working in a shop in Stirling on day release last year yet she has still not been released. She could however be released for good next year - she was sentenced to 11 years for culpable homicide in 2014. Just shocking.

I'm not sure. I would hope he does, it's the parole board that decides if he gets released, day release is part of preparing to get out. So logic (albeit my logic) says yes, he does.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if such a high-profile person like him though would be put in a charity shop to work or something like that? Surely he would be recognised?

Yeah logic says defo no. Just surely no. But if someone had said that cow would be out working on day release 4 years into her 11 year sentence at the time I would have been mortified. I was so invested in the case as she lived not far from where I was brought up in Edinburgh, the whole community was sickened, still are!

Wasn't she also Brian McConnachie's client?

Yeah maybe not him tbh but just like Mikaeel the crime wasn’t premeditated although she admitted culpable homicide and honestly the two cases aren’t even similar. But for me and many others they are equally as bad. More so that it was her son. Just horrid.

Not if they make him grow a beard :D
In all seriousness though. I'm not sure.

Aye. I remember that case well. What a boot. 4 years into a sentence and she's in contact with the public. Makes you sick.

Me either. Could go either way. It’s all to do with good behaviours.

Yeah. Did she not physically abuse him before killing him? I might be wrong but did she not also fail in getting medical help for him on a few occasions?

The thought of him getting day release gives me shivers.

I hope we have learnt valuable lessons in Scotland after what happened with Robbie McIntosh a couple of years ago.

Yeah, from what I heard her other kids (3) and immediate family visit her in prison. I suppose the other kids were older and still felt close to her as to them that’s their mum, she never mistreated them, only Mikaeel. He was a twin and the girl now lives with the father (I think). Yeah he was obviously treated different to the rest, I read it was because he reminded her of the father (not sure if this was the case). Totally neglected and she googled all different things pointing to her guilt. But the difference is she did admit her guilt and is probably (as much as I hate to say it) not a threat to the public.

Yeah it's all coming back to me. It's just awful. You're right she's probably not a threat to the public and it's small consolation but at least she admitted her guilt. If only she had done so before the search party went out.

I know that was horrific. I remember driving to work with the helicopter overheard not wanting to go, I wanted to search. I remember it clear as day. We stay so close to the beach too and I kept thinking he had wandered there. Brutal.

I wonder if something similar happened with Caylee Anthony? If she was beaten for misbehaving then her mum dumped her body?

Aye that case still baffles me no end. It was defo someone close I think, poor child got in the way of her lifestyle.

I know the case you mean but know very little about it.

Some people really shouldn't have children, like that woman we spoke about the other day who murdered her children and sold their clothes. What is wrong with people?
