"organised raves" <--- too many drugs? I know some really bad burn out cases from that scene... Chemical psychedelics, all kinds of brain-damaging substances. In the 90's, it was a HUGE drug culture. It still is, from what I can see.
Well I'm rather relieved he's been caught. Such a random vicious attack. It's kind of eerie that there is nothing about her identity, but I realise the family may not have been notified yet.

Ms Lau's violent death had evoked a display of grief from people who had never known her, but felt compelled to visit the site of her death.
Strangers left flowers and cards underneath a tree just metres away from where the body was found. "Our city grieves with you and for you," read one card.
"Although I didn't know you I will think of you every day as I pass this spot," read another.
A man arrived with a bunch of flowers and said he didn't know the woman, but felt compelled to pay his respects.

The man accused of raping and murdering a pastry chef as she walked to work has never before been in custody, the Melbourne Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday.
Scott Allen Miller, 42, briefly appeared for a filing hearing after he was arrested and charged with one count of murder and two counts of rape.
Police allege Mr Miller twice raped Chinese national Renea Lau, also known as Yuk Ling Lau, before killing her.
Mr Miller, dressed in prison greens with his sandy hair tied back, was further remanded in custody by Magistrate Duncan Reynolds for a committal mention October 24.
Interesting, how do they know she was raped twice? I hope this is not a case where he never stands trial because of his psychosis. He would then be sent to Thomas Embling forensic unit for 7 years and if he is then deemed to be safe to the public would be allowed out. JMOO
Mr Miller, a Californian-born man who has been living on Melbournes streets for at least two months, stared straight ahead as he was formally remanded in custody to reappear on October 24.
He has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of rape.
Dressed in a green long-sleeved T-shirt, he looked bewildered during the short hearing and yawned several times.
A HOMELESS man charged with the murder and rape of Chinese pastry chef Renea Lau near Melbournes Botanic Gardens in the early hours of Saturday morning had been diagnosed with drug-induced psychosis, his lawyer says.
