What was the original time frame given for the search? I thought it was 6 weeks and we're heading for week 5.

So.... a little Quick Poll....

I thought it was 10 weeks for the search. If I'm correct (?) only halfway through so far.

I think you're right.
At the very beginning when the search was first announced I think 6 weeks was mentioned, later it went to 6-8 weeks but more recently it changed again to 10 weeks.

I mustn't have tap talk cos can't see no heart, I'm using an I phone, thanks anyway.
My thoughts are that he may have self harmed, due to hearing he suffered depression or that he took a fatal dose of something, somehow made it out of the horseshoe without being seen and collapsed somewhere out of sight. If he is found in landfill I think it's possible he took a bad dose of something, got into the bin and never made it out again.
I could be totally wrong but I feel he will be found elsewhere, and the sooner the better, for his families sake.

It has actually always been estimated to take 6-10 weeks.

From the 10th February SP update (the day they announced they would be searching the landfill):
The search will be a considerable task. The area identified is more than 920 square metres of waste down to a maximum depth of eight metres and it is estimated that it is likely take a team of specialist search trained police officers six to ten weeks to complete the work required.

Then from the 6th March SP update (the week the full-scale search was beginning after the prep was completed):
Police will begin a full-scale search of part of a landfill site at Milton in Cambridgeshire this week as part of the continuing investigation to find Corrie McKeague.

[...]

The search is likely to take six to ten weeks to complete, although this will obviously depend on daily progress on the site.

This is another article, prompted I believe by MM's posting on facebook. A bit more quoted in this one:

Most important item in here is that investigation costs have hit £750k now, one of the most expensive MISPERS case ever. Probably up there with the Maddie and Ben cases.

I am wondering if they have found anything of interest? Also, they may wish to get search over with by Easter as well as take advantage of good weather. JMO
