IMO, it seems so juvenile when you boil it down to the fact that the DT didn't like the SA's questions.

If CM and the DT had "nothing" to worry about ... they would NOT have asked HHJP for a "mistrial" at the end of day 3 of the trial. It showed "desparation", and Judge Perry must have been "secretly" laughing.

CM requesting a "mistrial" also tells me that the SA's "parade of witnesses" from the "31 days" must have been very effective.

So if you were on the jury and you believed -- well, possibly believe -- JB's opening statement of the "drowning accident theory," a "normal" mother would not have acted like ICA did during those 31 days, regardless of the cirucmstances.

It showed the "true" ICA ... NO concern about her deceased daughter ... NO concern about anything except men, parties and having a "grand ole' time" ...
and it showed that ICA had ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN about Caylee !

The 27:25 one is rather scary. It's like she had actually convinced herself she told TL this stuff and she couldn't grip it. She looked like Robert Fitzpatrick in Times Square on 5/21 at 6 PM.

I wonder why they went after GA instead of LA? She tells JG it was Lee, she tells Robyn it was Lee, she tells TL it was Lee. Revenge for GJ?

My guess is because Lee Anthony did not tell Jose Baez at a motions hearing in front of God and the world that he "would do anything to save his daughter"! (wink wink)

That's why it became GA who "abused" Casey and not SO MUCH, Lee... they reserved Lee for following in his daddy's footsteps although not doing a very good job of it? (WTH)

I think the title of this thread is inaccurate. The jury was not 'dismissed' today, it was 'excused'.

Dismissed would mean that it was completely let go. Dismissed from its duties as jurors. That didn't happen.

Imo, the most important part of today's court session happened after the jury was dismissed. Tony saying that Casey's secret amounts to a debunked attempt by Lee to feel her up and George hitting her (not sexual abuse) at some unspecified point in her life is a huge problem for Baez and co. The whole defense is based on sexual abuse by George. The defense made a point of saying yesterday that Tony was closest to Casey and she would confide or ask him for help above others (to which he replied "or her parents"). Baez made a point of positioning Tony as Casey's closest confidant and pushing to get the secret introduced in court. Huge mistake, imo. The state must be loving this...

P.s. wonder if Casey didn't remember which lie she told Tony, or if she just figured he must still feel for her and would take Baez's lead...

Hi, Yllek. Actually, Baez is doing his best to leverage in sexual abuse any way he can without having Casey testify (which would be a three or four day catastrophe). If he can pry open the door even with something as tangential as Tony's statements, he can try to get the rest in. The prosecution has good reason to exclude evidence even if it would partially neutralize Baez's opening onslaught.

CM protesting the repetitive nature of the questioning confuses me as I thought the DT wants to stress how KC acts, despite her trauma, the same as she always had due to abuse by GA. Therefore, I thought the testimonies today kind of reinforced that idea. :waitasec:

It wasn't just the repetitiveness CM had an issue with, he was stating a case that resulted in a mistrial due to several witnesses testifying that the defendant showed no remorse for their crime and was comparing those witnesses to those in ICA's trial so far. I don't know which trial he is watching, but not one witness ever said she showed no remorse... after all according to JB no crime was committed so how can she show remorse?

I wish wftv would have the raw footage from the Casey cam....she was soooooo angry all during CM asking for a mistrial.

I couldn't believe it when CM was talking mistrial. And I have so much more respect for the SA to use all the willpower they had and not blurt out, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" I commend them for continuing to put up with the defense's BS because I surely couldn't do it. God bless the SA!

IMO Casey should at least show remorse because, at the very least, she covered up the "accidental" death of Caylee and the disposal/abuse of Caylee's body.

Hi, Strawberry, and thank you for the video clip! Casey has good reason to feel screwed. Under Florida law, the only ways that sexual abuse claims can be placed into testimony are [1] direct testimony (which is not going to happen) or [2] heresay, but only if they pertain to the victim's very early years. That is the reason why the judge himself interjected very specific questions about the time frame of Lee and George's actions. If it keeps going this way, Casey might have to testify as a last ditch attempt to save herself.

It was weird how fixated both KC and JB were on the parents or door at the end, with KC clearly looking like she knew she was screwed. Maybe it was a note she wanted to hand to her parents - but they never looked her way?

Also found it interesting that she pulled out the near-groping experience when TL was in NY, a time when he testified that she was scared he wasn't going to come home. Maybe she hauled it out (in edited form) to entice him back to protect her.

Exactly. DT wants to have its cake and eat every bite as well. Not gonna happen. They opened this line of questioning with their laughable opening statement wherein they claim that the abuse and upbringing of ICA made her ill equipped to deal with Caylees "accidental" death and therefore was in denial and carried on as if nothing happened.

Sucks when you yourself open the door wide and then a bull rushes into your china shop and trashes the place.

WOW! you are so right...she is majorly pizzzed! She looks as tho she could beat someone up! Her jaws are flappin' and both Jose and Dottie look like they tell her to stiffle! And those eyes of hers lots of evil in there.
