Mary Kennedy 52 found dead Estranged from Robert F Kennedy

It was in April not in May 2012 that the housekeeper called Mary's sisters and they said they would come over and then didn't show up.

“I called Mary’s sisters, and they said, ‘OK, we’re going there,’” says the Colombian housekeeper, who spoke to me on the condition that her name not be used. “But they never show up. So after that, Mary told me, ‘Oh, my sisters, my brothers, they’re all so mad at me they don’t want to talk to me for what I did.’ And then she was so sorry, and then she say, ‘Why I did it? Why, why, why I drink?’”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr has denied claims he stopped financially supporting his wife in the months before her New York suicide.

Lawyers who represented the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in a divorce case pending when Mary Kennedy hanged herself in May issued a statement Monday responding to a New York Post report.

The Post said Mary Kennedy's lawyers filed papers alleging her husband cut her off from a court-ordered $20,000-a-month credit card and said she couldn't afford groceries, gas and medical care.

Robert Kennedy Jr's youngest brother Douglas and his family also live in Westchester County. Douglas Kennedy, born in 1967, is currently 44 years old. He and his wife Molly have 5 children. Their youngest child, a boy, was born in January 2012 at the Northern Westchester Hospital.

Douglas is the 10th child born to Robert F. and Ethel Kennedy.

Robert F. Kennedy owned a home at the well-known Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod in Hyannis Port, but spent most of his time at his estate in McLean, Virginia, known as Hickory Hill, located west of Washington, D.C. His widow Ethel and their children continued to live at Hickory Hill after his death. Ethel Skakel Kennedy now lives full time at the Hyannis Port home.

Mary Kennedy: Autopsy shows anti-depressants, no alcohol in blood

The autopsy report, reviewed by The Journal News today, also shows that Kennedy had no alcohol in her system when she hung herself with a rope in a barn on her Bedford estate on May 16. Her blood did contain trazodone, desmethylvenlaxafine and venlafaxine, all classified as anti-depressants.

Her lawyers at the firm of Hennessey & Bienstock are seeking to block Robert Kennedy from becoming the administrator of his wife's estate. In the court papers, they cite a conflict of interest if Kennedy is put in control of distributing her assets because he is an adversary of her creditors and responsible for a significant portion of the estate's debt.

Thanks epiphany, here is a similar article from CNN:

(CNN) -- Mary Richardson Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., had no traces of alcohol in her system when she took her own life in May, according to a toxicology report released Friday by the Westchester County medical examiner.

Kennedy, who had been battling depression, was found dead May 16 in Bedford, New York, a small town north of New York City where she lived. The medical examiner's office determined Kennedy died as a result of asphyxiation due to hanging. She was 52.

While no traces of alcohol were found in Kennedy's system, the medical examiner's report did find Trazodone, O-Desmethylvenlafaxine and Venlafaxine -- substances the National Institute of Health categorizes as anti-depressants.

From link above:
"Her autopsy report also revealed that her fingers were caught between her neck and the noose when she was found dead, perhaps indicating that she may have changed her mind about hanging herself at the last minute, the Daily News reported. "

This is the 1st I have read of this. This is horrible to think about, especially for her children!

Bobby Kennedy suffers from spasmodic dysphonia, a disorder that makes speech difficult and causes the voice to sound quavery.

In the divorce affidavit, Bobby said he is taking prescribed medication but he didn't say why.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Kennedy,_Jr.

Interesting. With his addiction history, he probably is not on prescribed meds for spasmodic dysphonia:

Oral medications provide little relief from the symptoms of spasmodic dysphonia. However, if other forms of dystonia are present, medications may help relieve those related symptoms. At this time, no medication is specifically indicated to treat a dystonia; however, a number of products, including Sinemet® (carbidopa/levodopa), Ativan® (lorazepam), Klonopin® (clonazepam), Neurontin® (gabapentin), and Valium® (diazepam), are used to settle muscles or nerves with excess activity.

http://www.dysphonia.org/causes.php

In rare cases, psychogenic forms of spasmodic dysphonia do exist; however, in most instances, the muscle spasms are caused by abnormalities in the central nervous system (the brain).

A disorder that involves involuntary muscle contractions is also called a dystonia; therefore, another name for spasmodic dysphonia is laryngeal dystonia. Spasmodic dysphonia is considered a form of focal dystonia, a neurological disorder that affects muscle tone in one part of the body.

“He (Robert) didn’t realize how crowded the area was until after the funeral, and he wanted to have the ability to lay his wife to rest among her family members,” Maki said. “He opted for an area of the cemetery where there is room for future expansion.”

But there are no other family members — Kennedy’s or Mary’s — buried there right now.

Now Mary is buried beneath a sickly oak tree where there is a small statue of the Virgin Mary looking over her grave and still no marker identifying her. There are also a couple of small U.S. flags and two other religious statues.

Word of the surprising plot switch came on the same day the Daily News reported that Mary might have changed her mind at the last minute about hanging herself.

Ashar said in the toxicology report that Mary had no alcohol in her system. And Mary’s prescribing psychiatrist said in a statement to The News that the antidepressants found in her blood were her normal dosage.

The Bedford police report obtained by a Freedom of Information request does not specifically say what Kennedy stepped off of, though the medical examiner said scene photos showed three metal wire boxes near her feet.

How come? All those Kennedy connections and Mary's body went to the firehouse first?

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had filed for divorce from his wife in 2010. He fought, and eventually won, permanent custody of their children:...

Not so. Temporary full custody. Shame on Newsday.

She declined to detail the conversations she and Mary Richardson Kennedy had during those five weeks, saying only that they had spoken often, in person and on the telephone. She also declined to describe Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s emotional state during that time period...

"She was clean and sober," White said of Mary Richardson Kennedy. "I was very gratified about that."

Mary Richardson Kennedy and White last spoke two days before her body was found, talking on the phone for about 30 minutes, White said. White declined to give details of the conversation.

But, she said, she wasn't expecting what she saw in the garage.

This explains why some reports say Mary was found in the barn while others say she was found in the garage.

This report says Mary hadn't been seen for 24 hours and in the autopsy report it states the last time Mary was seen was at 3 pm on May 15th and a caretaker found her.

The medical examiner didn't release the estimated time of death but if she was last seen at 3 pm on the 15th of May, I wonder when they believe she hung herself?

It also said Mary had a medical history of ethandism which means alcoholism.

Interestingly, Ms. White said she had used Mary Richardson Kennedy as an example of "positive parenting" for a book she wrote.

The Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor who found Mary Richardson Kennedy hanging in the garage on the grounds of her Bedford mansion said Thursday it was a call from the dead woman's estranged husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., that brought her to the estate.

"He was concerned something had happened to Mary," Shannon White told News12 and Newsday.

It was about 1:30 p.m. on May 16 and no one had seen Mary Richardson Kennedy in almost 24 hours.

"He knew," she said of his reaction, declining to elaborate.

White said she went over to the dead woman, touched her and began to pray.

"He said, 'We need to call the police,'" she recalled.

White, an ordained Presbyterian minister and freelance reporter for News12, said she had been Mary Richardson Kennedy's "spiritual adviser" for about five weeks and that during that time the mother of four was clean and sober.

Mary Richardson Kennedy and White had been friends for 19 years, White said. White recalled that she had used Mary Richardson Kennedy as an example of "positive parenting" for a book she wrote.

"She was a lovely, lovely person," she said.

"I was worried. I was concerned," she said.

Bedford police said they are still awaiting a final toxicology report before completing their investigation.

RFK Jr. and gal pal Cheryl Hines step out on Cape Cod for Kennedy wedding just 3 miles from Mary Kennedy's grave

<snipped>

ROBERT F. KENNEDY Jr. took actress Cheryl Hines to his nephew’s weekend wedding at his family’s famed Cape Cod compound — just 3 miles from where he buried his wife, Mary, in May.

Kennedy, 58, and Hines were among more than 200 guests invited to witness his nephew, Matthew Kennedy, marry Katherine Manning at the Hyannis Port compound.

RFK Jr. and Hines apparently tried to keep a low profile in Camelot, sitting one row shy of the last row at the evening nuptials.

Robert Kennedy Jr's girlfriend Cheryl Hines makes first public appearance since suicide of her lover's estranged wife Mary

The 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' actress has kept a low profile since Mary Kennedy's death at her Mount Kisco, New York home on May 16 amid reports that her relationship with Kennedy's husband had deepened the mother of four's depression and caused her to take her life.

The blonde sitcom star also went with Mr Kennedy, 58, to Glenn Close's birthday party on April 15.

Mrs Close had been firm friends with Mrs Kennedy and even sang 'Amazing Grace' at her funeral.

And on April 28, Kerry Kennedy, uploaded a picture to Twitter of Cheryl Hines and her brother with singer Jackson Browne after an education fundraiser, with the message, 'Cheryl and Jackson were amazing on stage and off.'

The night after Kennedy Jr took his romance with Hines public, Bedford Police arrived at the home on the evening of May 26 2011 and found a 'domestic disturbance' unfolding. The officer left the house at just after 10 p.m but returned three hours later when Kennedy Jr called and arrived back at the house to find him sitting in his car.

'Officer Fusco spoke with Mrs Kennedy, and she said that she wanted Mr. Kennedy out of the house,' the officers report said.

'He states that he will be taking the children away for the weekend.'

Barnstable Town Clerk Linda Hutchenrider told The News that no paperwork was filed before last week’s exhumation of the body laid to rest on May 19.

“When you deposit a body in Massachusetts, you need a permit,” said Hutchenrider. “And if the body is moved, you need another permit — even if it’s in the same cemetery.”

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...kennedy-grave-article-1.1113042#ixzz20WCmIr62

It appears that some need permits before, and others can file paperwork after.
