The torso of a body and decayed bones were discovered inside of Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend at 6:28 p.m. The remains, described as small, may have been burned. The remains were found in a wooded area near the banks of the Coney Island Creek in the rear of the park at Bay 46 St. and Shore Pkwy.
In January, a hand was discovered on the shore of the 85-acre park. The next day, a foot was discovered nearby. Both appeared to have been in the water for a long period of time. It was not immediately clear if the remains discovered Sunday matched those found at the beginning of the year.
