you guys are very cleverly discussing a potential myspace page without actually discussing his myspace page. I am impressed! LOL!

please keep it off board for now- but maybe if we can confirm authenticity-as we are trying to do with some other sites-it can come out.

but until then- please leave the discussion offboard.

thank you ,thank you very much

Was clever -but now ....not so much. If u just had a post removed this is why.

Wonder why they sell phone cards at the jail?

To cut down on costs. It's VERY expensive to call collect. I had a friend in jail at one time and the hookup for the call was $3.00 and this was just a year ago.

I didn't know they had phone cards. A 10 minute call was around $15.00.

:what:

The discovery can't come soon enough. Hopefully, it will clear up many of the issues that have been brought out/discussed, so far.

Wouldn't the State of Florida be stuck with the bill for Zimmerman's defense anyway unless the donations keep coming? Since he's indigent, apparently.

If this was not a self defense issue the state would never be on the hook for full fee costs from MOM (his fee, staff hours, investigators, specialists, testing, etc...). They wouldn't have to pay a dime over what they would pay a public defender.

If GZ gets SYG standing with the judge, is acquitted by a jury or wins his appeal state pays and protection from civil damages are in place.

No matter the outcome, the State is going to end up paying a ton of money...just for the prosecution alone. That, in and of itself, is motivation for making sure you have a case before deciding whether or not to file charges.

Just promise me you won't bring the comments from any article over here. There is some crazy commenting going on out there. Give people anonymity and an audience and character goes right out the window. This is true of all sides of all cases.
Thanks HF

All of the other trash out there brings me back here every time. It is disgusting to read the things that people say. What amazes me the most is they even do it on Facebook, not even bothering to hide. It really makes me wonder what this world is coming to, have people always been so awful???

The next person to reference the myspace that I have asked specifically to leave offboard is getting a TO. Don't really know how to make it more plain.
Hate to be harsh, but I am not stupid either.

On both sides of the issues and everything in between...
Some people are just cruel, it seems like they have no heart or respect for human life and dignity. It is disheartening to see the hatred that is spewed even in the comments of some of the largest papers and stations in the country. Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, Fox, it is everywhere.

Sometimes you just have to step away. Trayvon was a human being and GZ shot and killed him...

As sad as it makes me to read some of the things that have been said, I am also glad because I think it is important to be aware of what is out there. It really does put things into perspective. We've come so far, but there is still such a long, long way to go. Knowing we have such a long, long way to go, makes it much more likely that there will be some change from this.

MOO

Because no one has put a $10,000 bounty on the head of any of the Martin's.

Because no one in the Martin family has received death threats.

And let's not forgot the Wanted Dead or Alive posters and the celebrity that thought he was retweeting GZ's the home address.

I don't blame any family members for not wanting to draw attention to themselves

"Morris code? I have no idea how someone typing on a keyboard leads one to believe GZ had an accomplice?"
I hope they don't have a coocoo clock. They would get worn out answering the front door every hour.

That's not true. They have received many. We don't see them here because we don't link to non MSM articles. Believe me, there are plenty of death threats out there, enough to go around for everyone.

From your fingertips to God's ears.

Okay. Thanks for that. I thought it was your opinion and estimation based on your experience. A fact. Good to know! It's all speculation. Thanks for clarifying.

So, are you still suggesting that there is a million dollar case here, for both the defence and the prosecution?

I certainly didn't mean to confuse you. I thought it was pretty obvious I wasn't posting spreadsheets.

The million-dollar estimate was O'Mara's. I merely said I wouldn't be surprised if he is right (assuming the case goes all the way to jury deliberations a year or more from now).

The idea that the State will most likely outspend the defense is based on every account of court costs I've ever heard, by prosecutors or defense counsel. (The Simpson "dream team" MAY have been an exception, but I've never seen actual documentation that it was.)

Obviously all references to the cost of GZ's trial are rough estimates at this point. Nobody--not O'Mara or Corey--knows what all the trial may entail.

Oh, one more thing! I imagine that the state would want to get the accurate amount back and nothing more or less. Why would the prosecutor's office, in your opinion, want to 'lowball the estimates'?

What are you talking about? The State didn't recoup any prosecution expenses from Casey Anthony!

If you are talking about money spent by the State on her defense because she was indigent, then it would be common practice for Baez to have to account for every penny. I have prepared such reports and they are very detailed (often hundreds of pages), but I admit I'm not in Florida and can't vouch for the competence of auditors there.

*I* was talking about estimates of what the State spent prosecuting the trial. Since the case was lost, I doubt anybody working for the prosecutor wants to brag about how much money they spent getting an acquittal for Casey Anthony. That's just common sense.

You seem to want to accuse me of asserting facts I do not know to be true. I don't stick "IMO" after every post, but I do use "I think" and similar phrases to indicate that I am expressing opinion, not reciting verifiable facts. What is the problem?

If GZ gets SYG standing with the judge, is acquitted by a jury or wins his appeal state pays and protection from civil damages are in place.

BBM: I realize that SYG immunity has a provision whereby the defendant recoups his expenses and acquires immunity for civil damages.

But in the case of an acquittal or appellate victory, I believe the defendant still has to pay his own expenses unless (a) he has been previously declared indigent, and/or (b) he can prove he was falsely arrested and prosecuted (usually a difficult thing to prove, since a judge has already found probable cause for his arrest).

Likewise, defendants who are acquitted (but not granted SYG immunity) may still be sued for civil damages.

Do you know of a Florida law that says otherwise?
