It is understood Smith and Ms Mari met through her ex-husband, and father to two of her daughters, Michael Schirripa more than a decade ago when they lived on the Gold Coast.

And as Ms Mari’s family and friends struggled to come to terms with her death, many have been left wondering what lies ahead for her son and three daughters, born to three fathers.

It is understood two of the girls are being cared for by Ms Mari’s parents on the Gold Coast, unable to go anywhere else with their father behind bars.

What did this guy do? A lot of this will probably not be for publication, there will be no need, looks like they have him for a long time.

The question is, what was he doing walking among us? How many other offences has he committed while escalating to this one?

In a statement tonight, police said they’ve charged a 38-year-old man with murder, entering a dwelling with intent, deprivation of libery, attempt to commit rape, attempted murder and two counts of rape.

I so agree Possy but unfortunately these "desperates" are out about in the light of day.
A little country town close by to me has a pocket of govt housing, a railway station and now the govt has built a new Methadone clinic which is a cocktail for disaster.

The locals are frightened to go into the bank due to bag snatches when walking out, recently a pensioner was dragged for metres by 3 drug fuelled locals in front of the bank's guard.
The cycle continues with the unsupervised children starting to take over the streets and town. It's just so sad to see the next generation following suit.

Mistakes happen but contraception is better than sliced bread.

The man accused of murdering 34-year-old Norman Park mother Anthea Mari has been remanded in custody until next month.

Jacob Michael Smith, 38, briefly faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Mr Smith, who had a small forehead gash and was wearing brown prison overalls, appeared relaxed in the dock with his forearms crossed.


He will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 29.

GOLD COAST - A clump of dog poo on a shoe has tripped up an armed robber who didn't watch his step on his way to hold up a Gold Coast TAB. While 26-year-old Jacob Michael Smith hid his face during the armed robbery, he neglected to wipe a piece of dog poo off his shoe, which formed an unfortunate pattern that would lead to his arrest. The poo shape was noticed on a photo taken by a security camera and was enhanced by a police scientific officer.

Smith was charged with being an accessory after the fact in relation to the strangulation death of an inmate in Woodford Correctional Centre in 1997.
In 2002 he was jailed for more than 10 years over several offences including the hold up of a Gold Coast TAB.

SLAIN mother of four Anthea Mari’s body was found with a pillow over her face and a sheet wrapped tightly around her throat, police will allege.

Detectives allege the Norman Park woman’s longtime friend Jacob Michael Smith, 38, murdered Ms Mari, 34, in the loungeroom of her home after entering through a rear door some time after 1am, on Tuesday.

A witness saw Smith and Ms Mari lying together on a mattress and later discovered her body, police will allege.
