R.I.P. Genesis... You are already flying high but now you can have a proper burial.

So very sad.. How many times have we seen this happen??.. Why would they just not give her back to her Mother??

I'll take a quess at answering. Because as crappy of a parent as her father was he still believed he was the better parent. :furious:

IIRC, Genesis' mother is quoted as saying in one of the articles she believed dad was po'd that Genesis' wished to see her mother and I'm sure her dad was angry as heck when this child missed her mommy and didn't give his girlfriend the attention he expected of Genesis as the childs mother role.

Neither of these two deserve the term parent. I can't stand having to use it in a sentence when refering to either of them. :furious:

I expected a response from LE such as KRDO received.
With only the details published, I think krdo did a commendale job. They probably have more than was released to the public......

Whose to say these perps would have turned themselves in without making contact with someone?

Being from the Chicago area, it is not in the least bit unusual for a suspect to contact a local clergyman or politician - which makes news - when the perp 'surrendors'. Perhaps it is different in the area LE is investigating this case, but in the world we currently live in, knowing the area's from which these two perps had residency, why would something different be expected?

and if I understand correctly any media interviews can be presented as evidence at trial, no?

With as much misinformation put out by the media we find while sleuthing, I am happy with the job KRDO has done on this case.

On that note I am happy the perps were caught.

Did they surrendor as they promised?

Facebook Message Led to Arrests in Child's Death

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa said detectives tracked a Facebook message, which the couple wrote to a Colorado Springs TV station, back to a motel. He said the two were sleeping when Henderson police arrived.

The couple's two other children weren't with them when they were arrested.

Lt. Lari Sevene of the sheriff's department said the couple left the children with a friend in California, and that the boys were later taken into custody by the California Department of Human Services

Lynch is being held on a charge of Child Abuse Resulting in a Death. They've set her bond at $500,000. Hope that's high enough.

Such a sad story. Hope these two spend a loooong time locked up.

I'm so glad these two have been returned to Colorado, and yes, I agree, she looks like she thinks the whole thing is hilrarious. :furious:

Yes, her facial expression is disturbing to say the least.
 
I think those are old mugshots? (not from this case) Pretty sure I saw them early on before they were even caught.

I dont think this has been posted here. This hit our news in the Spring if I remember correctly. Parents had moved months before, and this girl was never reported missing. "Parents" Dad and step mom.... Are now going to stand trial for her death.

One neighbor, who was friends with Lynch, told detectives access to the crawl space in the house was through a closet and Genesis was often put into that closet as discipline and told to do her homework.

For two days after Genesis Sims died, her father and his girlfriend left the 9-year-old lying on her bed, a detective testified Friday.

One of them dressed the girl and braided her hair. Then, according to El Paso County Sheriff’s investigator Ralph Losasso, they put her in a laundry bag and buried her in a corner of a crawlspace beneath a duplex where they lived in Monument in December 2008.

Losasso testified that the girl’s father, Hanif Zarif Sims, later told him they buried Genesis away from all the pipes so that no one would accidentally find her. :furious:

Then they put flowers on the site.

Did u read thru the other thread from when she was found?

It said they think Genesis could've been buried alive. :(

I can't help but think about Zahra, too, & the whole "evil stepmother" scenario playing out. :(
