unless its burned I don't think that's the same color as the WM guys.

even if it is, there appears to be lettering on it that does not seem to be 'WM'

Heartbreaking. It makes me wonder if this is connected through Philip somehow. His school goes to grade 12 and also the high end go-karting. Edited to add that I don't suspect anyone in particular. But his school is close to his house and kids talk about things they have.

The family was high profile -- big house, fancy cars, daughters in two of the country's best boarding schools, son at one of the District's best private schools, appearances at high society events, multiple personal assistants. They were a big target, irrespective of their child's outwardness elsewhere.

Exactly. So where is the connection? I'm just tossing ideas around.

If one of the bad guys made Amy drive to the bank, that may explain the reports of erratic driving. She may have been trying to attract attention or maybe get pulled over. I know I was lost one time in a VERY BAD area of an unfamiliar town when I was traveling for my job years ago. I didn't even feel safe asking anyone for directions, and this was before the use of smartphones or Garmin devices.

So I started running red lights like crazy, and accelerating from a stop as fast as I could. Alas, no police appeared...where are they when you need them?

In this scenario, it is likely that there were more bad guys at the house, guarding the other hostage(s). I guess the thing to do if we were in that situation is to crash the car hard on the perp's side, hitting a pole or something. But I guess there would be a risk that you wouldn't be in the sort of shape to tell the officers what is going on....maybe the plan back at the house was to start ending lives if they didn't come back from the bank run within a certain period of time.

Just speculating...

It does. I read these tweets and tears just came running down my face. This is a horrific crime to begin with & then to hear this could of been happening. Whomever the perpetrator(s) is/are are most definitely evil, coldhearted, sick SOB's!!!!

Agree. These people are true evil at its worst.

Gangs were brought up many posts ago. I wonder if the perp(s) had ties to a gang. They are the only group I know of that could be this sick with no care whatsoever about human life.

I noticed in the tweet they seem to think 2 or more people at least were at the house. They used the word KILLERS plural form.

I thought from the start that it would have to be more than one perp to control that many people.

Police believe the killers were in the house for about 10 hours, and that they successfully forced the Savopoulos family to get them tens of thousands of dollars. Someone may have actually had to go out and get the cash while the rest of the family and their housekeeper were held hostage.

They think the killers were in the house for ten hours. I expected it was longer then that

I am pretty sure it's partially burned. I think it's the exact same color, green and grey. I bet it was found in the car or near the car, which is why they are asking around.

The same as Petit case. They kept them in the house (hostage) and took mother out to the bank. She told the teller she needed money for ransom. Police were called, but they set up perimeter outside the house while mother and her two daughters were killed inside. House was also set on fire.
But in that case perps didn't get far since police was outside, unlike this one.

Exactly. So where is the connection? I'm just tossing ideas around.

The police have indicated repeatedly they believe the suspects had familiarity with the Savopoulos's daily lives. My suspicion has been someone associated with the surviving cleaning lady.

Just as we are discussing these murdering *****, I had somebody from utility company knocking on my door. They wanted to get into my backyard. They went into my back yard (they were apparently legit), but it's so very easy to pretend to be from some utility company and get access to the house.

I've been wondering the same thing from the beginning.

Just speculating...

Honestly I was thinking of that exact thing earlier. If I was ever being escorted against my will and driving, then I think I would have to try that. I would try to force a collision to where the perps side door got smashed into.

I would try anything at that point to try to get help. Risky yes, but its already a bad situation and the perps cant be trusted to make it better obviously.

I suppose its possible that a perp was driving and had her as a passenger so maybe she wasnt even behind the wheel. All they needed to withdraw from a drive through lane was her being present to pass her drivers license through the chute and to talk through the intercom if asked by a teller. If they had a gun on her, they could get her to comply at the bank if she was not driving even.

This whole thing is horrible. I would try something if I could. There comes a point that you have to throw caution to the wind and try something. These perps reached that point when they started to hold hostages.

It's easy for anyone to purchase one of those high visibility vests...I wonder if the fragment is actually from a Waste Management vest, or just a plain, unmarked vest without a company logo.

It's reasonable to assume but not conclude the vest implies association with a company. I saw these at Lowes Hardware the other day. Bank robbers have used them as part of their disguises.

Frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't a rush earlier to get out of this. Or, maybe we will find out later that there was...that they fought.

Interesting. I'd be surprised if Domino's was pizza of choice of the victims.
"At one point, the killers may have ordered pizza. Two clerks at a Domino's Pizza tell WUSA9 that a delivery person came to the house."
