Of course he is, he's had 2 weeks to clean it anyway.

Bailey said that Perry, who left for New York the weekend Rothwell disappeared, has consented to have his vehicle searched by detectives there.

He also is providing a timeline of his activities through a spokesman for his attorney.

Bailey said that Perry consented to only give information on three hours of that timeline. According to Bailey, it is unclear at this time whether or not Perry has, in fact, hired an attorney.

Points of interest from the above article...

Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office spoke Sunday for the first time with 46-year-old David Perry since Rothwell was reported missing.

Detectives say they became aware Perry was in the area at a local storage facility removing items Sunday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. They went to the facility and attempted to speak with Perry.

What a piece of work this guy is.

Same mentality as Drew Peterson and so many others that feel entitled because of their job position. They unfortunately cast a bad shadow over so many that do such great work in Law Enforcement.

I thought being in law enforcement they would already have a DNA sample?

I would THINK that before hiring a new LE officer you would run the fingerprints AND the DNA sample... you know to make sure they are not that serial killer you have been looking for?

I guess it is just fingerprints...

Missing cadet Kelly Rothwell: Did her boyfriend kill her?

St. Petersburg, Florida - He hasn't answered any questions. He won't give a DNA sample. And, he was the last person to see missing police cadet Kelly Rothwell alive.

David Perry was Kelly's boyfriend, but fled to New York shortly after her disappearance. The question is why.

Per news article, he was looking frazzled and nervous. Perhaps that will help in solving Kelly's disappearance.

I wish they could corner this guy and make him squeal like a pig. He probably thinks he is too smart to be caught. Of course, I realize he may not be guilty, but he sure is making himself look guilty by not cooperating with authorities. It never looks good when you are the last person to be seen with a missing person. This seems like a tough case to figure out. If he did murder her, they are going to have a tough time figuring out what he did with the body since he isn't likely to talk.

Here's something from Foxnews today:

ETA: I don't know how much of his personality has been discussed, but he seems very explosive, abusive, controlling, from what I read in that one article.

...Perry because he had a bad temper.

"He kind of made her distant from her family," the sister said. "She always seemed like she couldn't talk. It's almost like he put her in a trance."
......

Lindsay Rothwell and others who knew Rothwell said Perry monitored her online activity and texted her incessantly.

Neighbor Williamson said Perry's temper would change quickly and he would get angry at small incidents.
Once, Williamson washed his deck, which was near Perry's parking space. Water had dripped on Perry's car.
"He went ballistic," Williamson said, adding that he called police because he felt so threatened. No arrests were made.

NG's lawyers are really making me mad tonight..."he has no reason to stay in Florida anymore, she was the only person he was close to and he went to NY to be with his family, no obligation to talk to LE..." etc....makes me crazy.

That reminds me of the Neil Entwistle case (who murdered his wife and their infant daughter in Massachusetts on January 20, 2006). He fled the country to return to his native England. When asked why he left the country after his wife & baby were murdered - he gave a similar excuse to friends in England - he said he felt "left out" with his deceased wife's family.

He was convicted and subsequently sentenced to life without parole on June 26, 2008.

It seems highly suspicious to me that DP went to NY shortly after Kelly's disappearance, he refuses to talk to investigators, and he refuses to give a DNA sample.

I find it disgusting that any defense attorney thinks it is okay for someone not to talk to the police about a missing person. How they can square that with supposed innocence of the person is beyond me.

The very last, bottom post on this article is very interesting from the anonymous poster. I fear this person is correct. I just hope LE can dig up something on this guy and get to the bottom of this. It would be a tragedy to see this case go on for months or longer with no one talking.
