If she's claiming self-defense, won't she have to testify? Just the little bit I've heard and seen I think she's not going to do so well in her defense. I think she has to testify to claim self defense.

She is on the defense list as a testifying witness (keeping fingers crossed). This could seal the deal for the needle!

MOO

If her defense is that she stabbed him 27 times, slit his throat and shot him in the head in self-defense, I really can't imagine anyone believing it. Shooting him once or twice, I could see a hung jury, but not under these circumstances. MOO

Not just the 27 stabwounds/ the ones to hi back that clinch it for me

GUILTY!!!:great:

Voted Yes, she's very guilty, but she may avoid DP.

Not buying the "Self Defense and then she had No Choice". We all make choices every second. Jodi had a choice at every stab. If she tries the "it was more humane to finish him off" she's going to tell a story that still points to her choices. So, she had a CHOICE, and she kept butchering Travis...then drove away to later get in bed with Ryan.

ITA!

The main CHOICE Jodi Arias had was to never come to Travis' home in the first place. He didnt invite her there, imo.

IMO

I am thinking she will be found guilty but no death penalty. While I understand why many users, as well as the victims family, feel that the death penalty is appropriate, I think it was a stretch to ask for it. It's going to be, IMO, too difficult to prove premeditation when it so appears to be a ~crime of passion~ on the surface. Plus with the way the defense seems to be going with the emotional abuse angle, I think that will sway the jury away from it. JMO only.

I respect your opinion but this is one case that is full of evidence showing premeditation. Much more than I have seen in other cases ...even other death penalty cases.

Just some of the things that shows defendant's premeditation:

1) Goes 90 miles away to rent a car when she could have rented one much closer.
2) Tells car rental agent she does not want the red car (red cars are known to stand out more) lies and tells him she is going to just use the car around town yet puts over 2800 miles on car.
3) She is a blonde when she rents the car.
4) Receipt is in evidence that she purchase hair dye in a dark brown color and is a brunette when she comes to Travis' home.
5) Admits that neighbors and roommates recognize her as a bleach blonde.
6) Keeps receipts except for the time she is in Arizona.
7) No contact evidence entered that Travis was ever aware she was coming to his home.
8) Turns cell phone off and takes out battery while she is in the state of Arizona coming to his home and leaving the state of AZ to go on and hump another guy hours later.
9) The last of May Travis writes to her he is not coming to see her afterall.
10) Mysterious 'burglary' May 28th in the home where she is living and a .25 caliber pistol is stolen but other valuable firearms are left behind and other collectables as well.
11) Travis Alexander was shot in the head with a .25 caliber gun.
12) Known to slash tires of TA and his girlfriend which means she carries a knife.

Jaun Martinez has produce more than enough evidence to prove premediation and premediation that began to form not when she arrived at his home unannounced but was forming since the last of May. That is in no way a crime of passion.

No one just happens to carry a sharp knife and gun into a bathroom with them when a man is just minding his own business and taking a private shower.

Crime of passion must happen at the time where both are in a heated argument with each other. We have seen the step by step minutes of Travis' last minutes of life. He was not threatening anyone. He however was being stalked once again and having his photos taken that the murderer knew he would not approve of but like always she did it anyway, imo. Imo he only saw her standing there spying on him in the last couple of minutes of his life and minutes later he was in a bloody heap with his throat sliced open ear to ear. He was a sitting duck because she had him hemmed up in a small enclosed space and the only way out was toward her and the knife she held.:furious:

That is no crime of passion! That is as premeditated and cruel as it can get.

It is not a stretch to ask for the death penaly in this case. It is one of the most chilling cases I have ever kept up with and because she brutally plotted to murder him and then carried it out by killing him three different ways death should be given.

She deserves death. The only reason she may not get it is because she is a young white female which is another injustice itself within our justice system.:banghead:

IMO

Oceanblueeyes I agree with all of your post. Yes this is a DP case but will all of the jury have the courage to vote this way????

As for my opinion a Male or Female that commits a crime like this should get the Death Penalty as well as one time appeal within 5 years...

And... to add to your list she leaves voicemails and diary entries after she knows he is dead, indicating that he is still alive.

I agree totally that she deserves the Death Penalty. But I am not sure that a jury will vote for it. Hopefully, if she takes the stand, the 'evil' will seep through enough for them to see it clearly. But I have a lost a lot of faith in jurors lately.

Has anyone ever questioned that in Travis's shower pictures....... was he even aware that she was standing there taking pics? Could she have been peeking around the shower curtain with the camera?

I'd post an automatic guilty but after what I saw in Florida I'm almost afraid to.

If she is found not guilty of first degree premeditated murder, than I have lost ALL faith in the jury system! This woman is as guilty as they come.

I'm shocked you still have faith to loose!

I've come to see it as a crap shoot!

Watching the trial the last few days, And not all of it mind you, But what I have seen, I really believe that Prosecutor is doing more to alienate the jury.

The thing is if they can prove he had a bad temper and abused her, I can see the scenario of her dropping the camera and him attacking her. Im not saying I believe it, But I can see it. It could be possible.. So I don't know. You get one person who feels bad for her, and I think that she gets 2nd degree.

I can at least see where that would make sense to someone.

Now that she is on the stand??? She looks young and sweet. I would be careful if I was the prosecutor.

Young- yes, sweet- NO! This is an excellent prosecutor, I'm not worried!

Just to be clear, I don't think she is sweet ;). I think they could and once they get that impression it may be hard to undo.

I think the prosecutor has to be careful. He's over the top at times.

Is the jury going to find Jodi Arias guilty of murder?

O dear Lord, I hope so. Her nose should be wrapping around the courtroom with all her lies.

Doesn't remember specifics? Is she freaking kidding? Roflmao

Yeah, JA will be found guilty and get LWOP......she'll beat the DP wrap.
Our current society has a hard time putting the hammer down on pretty young females. It's just the way it is......
