Kajavia's family suspects an ex-boyfriend, who was at the center of a love triangle that also involved Kajavia, is behind her disappearance and death.

The man lived on the same street where Kajavia's body was found three days after she disappeared.

Kajavia's nails were broken off. The weave she had just sewn into her hair the morning of her disappearance had been ripped out.

What is open murder??!

* Open Murder: [MCL 767.71] -- Michigan law does not require a prosecutor to choose between First Degree or Second Degree Murder when issuing a complaint, or even at trial. A prosecutor may charge "Open Murder", which is a combination of First and Second Degree Murder, and the jury may determine the appropriate degree based on the proofs.

Detroit woman found in trash bin had rope around neck

Oralandar Brand-Williams, The Detroit News 7:42 p.m. EST February 19, 2016

A 24-year-old Detroit woman whose body was found in a garbage bin had a red rope around her neck, but it’s unclear if it was the cause of death, a police investigator testified during a preliminary examination Friday for her ex-boyfriend.

Kajavia Globe was found nude from the waist down in a wheeled garbage dumpster behind a vacant house on the city’s northwest side in mid-December. She had been reported missing just days before and police were looking for a person — believed to be a man — who was videotaped wearing a mask while withdrawing money from her account at an ATM machine.

Dr. Lokman Sung, the assistant Wayne County medical examiner who performed Globe’s autopsy, said he could not comment on whether the rope was used to take her life. He did not rule out, however, that Globe, who was put “feet first” into the bin, did not suffocate to death...

Globe testifying the family had been searching for Kajavia - she did not approve of her daughter's relationship with Brack."It was a domestic violence relationship," Lashonda said. "Kajavia was outselling him. She was passing him, she was leaving him behind."

Globe testified about a violent incident she had witnessed between the two one day as they were driving down her street. Her and Max, this car's driving by itself because her and Max (were) in there fighting," Globe said.

Fighting that prosecutors say eventually led to more violence and ultimately Kajavia's death. Her mother recounting the scene where her body was found.

Ex-boyfriend guilty in death of woman in trash bin

Oralandar Brand-Williams, The Detroit News 12:28 p.m. EDT August 31, 2016

The ex-boyfriend of a 24-year-old Detroit woman whose body was found in a garbage bin with a rope tied around her neck was found guilty Wednesday in her death.

A Wayne County jury returned a second-degree murder verdict against Maxwell Brack, 25, in the death of Kajavia Globe. Her body was found Dec. 14 nude from the waist down in a wheeled dumpster behind a vacant house on Detroit’s northwest side.

Globe had been reported missing three days before she was found, and police were looking for a person — believed to be a man — who was videotaped wearing a mask while withdrawing money from Globe’s bank account.

Brack’s sentencing is Sept. 27 before Wayne Circuit Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway. He faces up to life in prison...

I know there were great chunks of this trial that weren't shown but I found it surprising they found him guilty. I suppose I must have missed some crucial evidence....

Dang.

This thread has only 6 pages of comments.

But at least the killer has been found guilty .

But imo. This case was worthy of more.

But hey. No worries
