GUILTY MO - Breeann Rodriguez, 3, Senath, 6 August 2011 - #6

Why can I not edit my post. I want to fill in the bits and pieces that you guys have suggested??? Anyone know?

You only get about an hour to edit a post. I really like having your post first in the thread like it is now. Maybe you could PM a mod a copy of your updated post, and ask them if they would replace your first post with it.

Breeann, who weighed about 30 pounds and wore her dark hair in pigtails, had been the subject of a frantic search since her parents reported her missing on Aug. 6. She was last seen riding her small pink bike with training wheels in front of the family home on Ode Johnson Street.

A week after her disappearance, a neighbor from the same street, Shawn Morgan, 43, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with evidence. A probable cause statement said Morgan confessed to finding the girl standing on the ladder at the pool in his yard, grabbed her and took her inside the house, where he suffocated her with a white plastic trash bag.

Morgan told investigators he "felt like it took an hour for the girl to die," according to the statement.

What wasn't clear was why he allegedly did it. Crowder said Morgan did not disclose a motive.

Oh My God!!!

She could just copy and paste the post into a new one and edit that way also. imo

Oh My God!!!

I know, like it was some inconvenience that she didn't die faster :furious:

To be honest, it was this statement that said to me he did not see her as a person (human) and thus prompted my mind to say it was either racial or sexual motive. Either one equally disgusting...

:twocents:

This could just be the typical "Southern" use of the term carry.....meaning to them the same thing as taken, driven, brought, etc. Just a possibility, as I do not know the actual distances involved.

jmo

edited to add....when I first lived in the south....a co-worker once stated that she had to "carry" her teen age son to the doctor before work. I literally thought she meant he was so sick that she had been required to CARRY him and said "you should have called for an ambulance" which made her hysterical as she just meant she had to TAKE him to the doctor!!!!!!

Lots of older folks use that term, but I intentionally got away from that when I married a Yankee. One thing I haven't been able to stop saying is that I am going to "run" to the store. My hubby says, "why don't you just use the car and drive?" But, I would think a news source would attempt to use the appropriate term, unless it is a direct quote. Go figure.
Anyhow... my heart goes out to this family and the neighbors who loved Breeanne. I wonder what possessed this guy to murder an innocent little child. I just cannot imagine why anyone would EVER want to hurt a baby like this! Such a horrible tragedy.

I'm tell ya'll no one is safe anymore. There are killers out there. I am still confused why anyone especially a father could kill a child? A 3 year old too? come on there is more to this.

Missing 3-Year-Old's Remains Found
Story Updated: Aug 18, 2011 at 8:52 AM CDT

Senath police chief Omar Karnes says a DNA test has not yet been done, but law enforcement are sure the remains are those of Breeann.

Dunklin county prosecutor Stephen Sokoloff says finding the body will help make the case against Shawn Morgan even stronger.

Chief Karnes says the investigation is not yet complete in this case, although he would not elaborate on what else the police department is looking into.

Parents of murdered Missouri girl say they're at peace

Prosecutor Steve Sokoloff says unfortunately, it may be a while before even they have a clear picture of why Morgan says he suffocated Breeann.

Sokoloff does say locating the body will help them build their case

“Obviously in any homicide case, location of the body is a significant evidentiary issue.”

snip

Sokoloff says if the case against Morgan goes to trial, he will consider asking for the death penalty.

See video at 00:25. Is that Breeann's body on the bank? Also at 1:45.

Not trying to be morbid, but can someone get screencaps please? I can't get them without the button for the video being smack in the middle. TIA

I'm a little confused with info in the article. I can't find a Senath City Park where the memorial is to be. Also, are they saying her little body will literally be carried to the cemetery...because it's not just across the street or down the block. ?

On Tv in different countries, I have seen pall bearers literally go through the street with a coffin.
Maybe since she is so tiny, it is their custom?
How far is the cemetary from church?

Since SM tossed Breeann's tiny body from a bridge, I would think her small bones would be broken, maybe even laserations.
ME would have to check if it was before or after she was deceased.
A long autopsy to point out in detail what SM has done in his crimes. JMOO

The church, Senath Church of Christ, is on E. Commercial Street and the cemetery is only about five blocks north of the church on Cemetery Rd. The term 'carried' could go either way, I use the term myself, frequently. It used to drive my very northern, NJ native ex insane. I believe the park they may be referring to could be Douglas Memorial Park. I only guess that because, well, I can't find a Senath Park and Douglas Memorial is almost directly across the street from the church. The funeral home is just around the corner. I think it would be beautiful if they literally carried Breeann to her final resting place. Five blocks ain't so bad. Can you imagine, all those people in white escorting her?? Wow.

Since he apparently threw Breeann's poor little body into water, I wouldn't expect broken bones from that.

I have a screen cap but I don't think it's Breeann since there would be LE all over that area. JMO

Also there is part in the video where the reporter states the neighbours remember SM acting suspiciously (1:25) after Breeann went missing.

Agreed...it could be the term used as we say "carried" rather than "take" all the time here,lol....I wonder also if maybe in their culture if it is feasible for them they may just actually carry or bear the casket by the pallbearers to the burial site....that would be totally moving....IMO

I don't recall seeing anything. Was she found in a trash bag or have they not indicated that yet.

starting to sound like this is one sick individual. A bomb threat? Thats not typical. I wonder what the wife has to say?? If my husband made a bomb threat at his job I would be asking him some questions.
