Her sister would like her to get life:

"I was elated because I never heard Casey, in her whole entire life, admit to doing anything wrong," Casey's sister Tammy Gray told Channel 9 Tuesday afternoon."
...
"I want her to go away for life, where she can never manipulate anyone or hurt anyone ever again," Gray said.

Casey pled guilty today to sixteen federal fraud charges. Sentencing is scheduled for February 10, 2015. She faces a potential of 202 years in prison and $2.5 million in fines if she's sentenced to the maximum penalty. Sandy's case is still pending.

:jail: Well, Casey, I guess you're headed to prison. You kept yourself from having to answer questions on the stand about Erica, though, didn't you?

WHOA ! 200 yrs ? WOW ! You wanna talk about Erica now?

I'm not giving up hope yet. Once both are in prison FOR LIFE, the one who did not do the deed (**speculative**) may want to talk about the one who did do the deed, in exchange for a chance at parole at age 70 or something.
Hoping anyway.

"Sandy Parsons to Face Federal Fraud Charges"

Sandy is headed to trial. He'll be back in court October 23. Information about what happened to Erica in 2011 and allegations of her abuse in 2004 will be limited. :sigh:

MOO - Casey did all of the fancy financial work - Sandy and all of the kids were just her 'tools'. Sandy knows Casey is going away for a LONG time and will sing like a canary to save his own azz. - MOO

At one point, a family member told investigators, Casey Parsons sent Erica to live with someone else, the warrants say.
“One witness said they took custody of Erica for about eight months after Casey contacted them and said she could not stand to look at Erica. This witness said Casey had brought Erica to their house. They said Erica had bruises on her bottom and Casey said she lost control and beat Erica.

“This witness said that after about eight months, Casey resumed custody of Erica and she was afraid DSS would find out she did not have her and was still getting money for her.”

“They probably have, since they were legally responsible for Erica,” Sherrill said.

“Even though she wasn’t living with them?” Channel 9 asked.

“Right, they still had the legal responsibility for her; they haven’t transferred that to anybody,” Sherrill said.

Sherrill told Channel 9 that his clients believed that was the law, and they considered Erica would be coming back any time. He said that their collection of that aid protected Erica in maintaining her Medicaid coverage.

Old story but just to remind us of the excuses that were initially made in regards to the money the Parsons continued receiving fraudulently.

Time to spit it out Sandy

more hurry up and wait - :sigh:

I bet as soon as he gets a glimpse into his long sentence , he will be asking to talk to someone to get himself out.

How do you plead guilty if you didn't think you were doing anything wrong to begin with. What a liar!!

from your fingertips to God's will. I pray you are right.

It's too bad they won't sentence Casey prior to Sandy's trial. He may look at HER sentence and decide to take the plea. Alas, that won't happen.

I'm betting his defense will be that he didn't know what Casey was doing. Here, ignorance is not bliss.

She didn't KNOW that what she was doing was illegal. She still had legal custody or Erica so doesn't that mean she gets money?? </end sarcasm>

One of my guilty pleasures is watching Judge Judy, and I am astounded with the number of people who go on national TV and admit to defrauding the government and think it is ok. One woman sued a friend because he cashed a lottery ticket but didn't give her the entire amount (because the gov't took some to pay for parking tickets he owed). She didn't cash it herself because she owed even more to welfare. Others admit to giving money to someone to hide it from the lawyers during a divorce.

I personally know of people who borrow money to put into a bank account so a bank will think they have assets and will grant them a mortgage. And a woman I once worked with was very upset when social services discovered that her baby daddy was actually living with her, because that meant no more support from welfare. She was so ok with scamming the government that she told everyone at work abou this. I have no idea how she was able to get welfare when she was employed, but I am sure that involved some scamming as well.

All this makes me all the more convinced that poor Erica is with the Angels now. If she were alive and with someone else, the Parsons would have produced her by now. The thing that bugs me about Sandy's upcoming trial is "lawyers for the government and Sandy Parsons have agreed not to bring up questions about what happened to her." How do you not discuss what happened to Erica?

As far as I'm concerned the mystery of Erica's disappearance was solved a long time ago. JMO.

Still heartbreaking that we are little Erica's aunties & uncles too late.

I tend to nickname my little relatives & my friends kids. That interior voice says "Hey, Brownie" every time I see those pictures of Erica with her huge brown eyes!

Off to bake some brownies in her honor. :heartbeat:

The defense list is much shorter and only includes Sandy, his daughter, mother-in-law and one D.S.S. worker.

http://www.wsoctv.com/news/news/local/jury-selection-sandy-parsons-begin-thursday/nhqGr/
What social worker would speak in defense of Sandy??? And if the prosecutors are not able to talk about Erica's disappearance, what is the social worker supposed to talk about?
I think, though, a good prosecutor will have no problem getting a conviction. All they have to prove is that the money never was used for Erica's care. And since she was not living at the home for years, it obviously was not being used for her. I doubt they put the money away in a bank account to save for her care. I am sure it is all gone.
