Investigators found the remains of Joseph Comunale, 26, buried in a shallow grave in a desolate area behind an Oceanport, N.J., florist, the sources told the Daily News.

From that article:

Communale disappeared after popping into an East Side apartment party late Saturday. He was last seen on video re-entering the building around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

So he left and went back the next morning? That's new info isn't it? Other articles said his friends left him there Sat night.

I doubt it because the person who carried the luggage out asked the front desk how long they keep security footage. From what little I have read, LISK is more tech-savvy than that. I think something unplanned happened--crime of anger? And someone panicked and tried to get rid of evidence. JMO.

He [tenant] lawyered up before police were able to question him, according to law enforcement sources.

Cops don’t believe that Comunale and that tenant knew each other before meeting on Saturday night, the source said.

I wonder what the motive was? It states his male friends stayed behind, it was the females that left. Also I don't think it was the victim returning at 730am, I think it was the suspect. Jmo.

Early Wednesday morning police received a tip of where the Comunale was when a friend of the apartment owner went to the 17th precinct and told cops they dumped their friend's body in a New Jersey marshland, sources say.

NEW YORK — The body of the Connecticut man who was last seen attending a party in midtown over the weekend was found in a suitcase in New Jersey, law enforcement sources confirmed.

The remains of Joseph Comunale, 26, of Stamford, was found in Oceanport in Monmouth County on Wednesday. Sources say the body was found with multiple stab wounds.

So, someone is being held on a suspended license. I'm guessing that is the party host.

My two guesses at this point:

* dispute over drugs (and/or money for drugs)
* sex encounter gone wrong

Could also be a regular ol' argument that got out of hand?
