OH OH - Jayme Bowen, 22, Columbus, 10 April 2014

I think it would be very interesting to know how many women who have been to the rehab in Scioto County are missing or murdered.

It's been more than two years since Megan Lancaster's family has seen her, and now police in central Ohio are investigating a possible link between her case and several other women who have gone missing.

"We've had other family members scream at us, 'She's gone. She's dead. Get over it, go on.' And we can't. We have to know what happened to her. We want to put a rest to this. Not just her, to all of these missing women," Kadie Lancaster, Megan's siser-in-law, told 10TV.

This case is breaking my heart. I just want her to come back to her boys.

Question. Is there anyway to make a thread for all the missing women and updates on that investigation so I don't have to check like 4 threads?

Kentucky man gets 13½ years for forcing women into prostitution

A Kentucky man who used drugs and threats to control women he set up as prostitutes in Columbus was sentenced on Tuesday to 13½ years in prison.

Court records say that the pair had worked together to rent Columbus-area hotel rooms and advertise the services of women they forced into prostitution between September 2013 and February 2014.

The indictment said Arrick Sr. gave the women heroin in exchange for prostituting themselves and threatened to kill them if they attempted to leave.

Reddit
FLINT, MI -- Flint Police Chief James Tolbert gave a snapshot Tuesday, July 21, of the weekend's arrests and traffic tickets, saying the police activity was "fruitful."

It was part of a detailed City Hall news briefing on a variety of subjects, including public safety.

In a weekend wrapup of police activity, Tolbert briefly mentioned two shootings and a stabbing that took place in the city of Flint. He said they were all still under investigation.

A 46-year-old man was shot and killed around 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, in the 500 block of East Dewey Street.

A man was in critical condition after a shooting around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the intersection of King Avenue and Welch Boulevard.

Tolbert broke down some of the arrests police made and tickets they issued during the weekend:

Nine individuals were arrested on prostitution charges on Fenton Road and Franklin Street area.
30 illegal parking tickets were written around local bars.
Two drag racers were arrested and their vehicles impounded.
18 traffic tickets were issued along the Dort Highway corridor.
"So it was a very fruitful night," Tolbert said.

As incidents happen throughout the city, Tolbert reminded community members police need their help.

"We have to understand these things aren't happening in a vacuum. If we look at some of our numbers and if we look at some of our homicides, we know that there is a lot of information out there," Tolbert said.

"The police can do their job, but we can only do our job if the community is always helping us. We constantly ask for that help."

Anyone with information about incidents over the weekend or other incidents that occur in the city are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP or call the police department at 810-237-6901.
