Peculiar letters from the RN

What on earth does the presence of those words have to do with anything? It's a fricken ransom note so you use appropriate language. Duh.
What would you expect PR to write?

"Hi, if we don't get the ransom money, your daughter will miss her next pageant?"

I don't see how you can even bring up the Manson gang based on what I just said. What are you, 16 years old or something? The Manson gang didn't leave any witnesses. There's been a few killers who've stayed after a killing, one was even known to make himself a sandwich, but not one has killed, and then remained in the house with potential witnesses present.

Yeah, immediately executed, child beheading, and 'not the country that it serves' are appropriate language for a ransom note. Victory is an appropriate closing salutation for a ransom note. Shuuuure. This is by no means a standard 'what would a ransom note say' ransom note. 'we are a group of individuals' 'you're not the only fat cat so dont think that killing will be difficult'. Say what? 'you will be denied her remains for a proper burial'

Are we reading the same ransom note?? Because this stuff screams left wing revolutionary diatribe against capitalism. Dont take my word for it. FBI profiler said 'revolutionary connotations that harked back to foreign powers'.

How do you know that the killer killed and then remained in the house? For all you know, the killer killed when things went bad, and then split . Nobody knows how long the killer was in the house after they killed.

Maybe the Manson thing wasn't a good comparison. I believe the Manson link actually was 'you're not the only fat cat around so don't think that killing will be difficult' is the ideological equivalent to 'death to pigs', right?

I'd like to thank you again for that other post, because the 'painstaking' and 'awkward' writing style supports an ESL ransom note writer, and the foreign faction theory.

And can you say you was there and the R's didn't get these phases from the books they read..And don't say its nothing cause you see it one way and I see it other..And still none can answer about Tom Miller others said it was PR but not attacked like this man so what is the deal here..And what made the R's special in the first place other parents went thur what they did in this kind of situation but they was able to control their interviews..When a child is killed the child is the most important person in the case...

Its possible you think the R's acted against their lawyers?

And if innocent why not come forth better than paying lawyers all this time with investigators in the mist...

she will be beheaded, executed, she dies......it's only an excuse for what LE was about to find in that basement.
"See?the note says she dies if we call you.we called you and she's dead."

thing is,she died BEFORE LE showed up. ;)

It was merely brought up by another poster that the ransom note reflects its author. I concur, and believe that the ransom note author is therefore no stranger to beheadings or executions or victories, or even foreign factions that don't respect other countries, and that killing for him is not difficult. See what I mean?

And it brings back the subject of why a ransom note would even be required in the RDI theories. There was really no need for an explanation or excuse as to why JBR would be dead in the basement. LE did not need steering or a roadmap from anybody. JBR's injuries and physical location by themselves would've suggested she was assaulted and strangled by an intruder. All the R's had to do was call 911 claiming they had found their daughter dead in the basement next to an open window. They could've made that call anytime that morning.

I'm claiming that because a ransom note was found, most RDI rationalized it as somehow being necessary in the RDI coverup plan, without explaining why its necessary in the first place.

A question for RDI: Why do you think a ransom note was necessary in the RDI coverup plan? How does it modify the crime scene in the R's favor?

Not to sell you short, JT, but if I can't convince him of this, I don't hold out much hope for anyone else.

It's not just that, Rayvn. You want to talk about left-wing anti-capitalism? This is Boulder we're talking about! You can't spit without hitting some left-wing nut. For people like the Rs, it must have seemed like another planet. You trying to tell me they didn't pick up on just a little of that through sheer osmosis?

And don't say its nothing cause you see it one way and I see it other..And still none can answer about Tom Miller others said it was PR but not attacked like this man so what is the deal here..

The deal is they CAN'T!

And what made the R's special in the first place other parents went through what they did in this kind of situation but they was able to control their interviews..When a child is killed the child is the most important person in the case...

That's the only comparison WE need.

HOTYH is me ten years ago. Before I saw the truth. Before I learned to use the dark side.

No need, eh?

JBR's injuries and physical location by themselves would've suggested she was assaulted and strangled by an intruder.

Oh, YEAH?! Would you like to hear what Ron Walker has to say on that subject? Well, whether you do or not, you will:

"Well, as much as it pains me to say it, yes, I've seen parents who have decapitated their children, I've seen cases where parents have drowned their children in bathtubs, I've seen cases where parents have strangled their children, have placed them in paper bags and smothered them, have strapped them in car seats and driven them into a body of water, any way that you can think of that a person can kill another person, almost all those ways are also ways that parents can kill their children."

All the R's had to do was call 911 claiming they had found their daughter dead in the basement next to an open window. They could've made that call anytime that morning.

Wouldn't have been as special then.

I'm claiming that because a ransom note was found, most RDI rationalized it as somehow being necessary in the RDI coverup plan, without explaining why its necessary in the first place.

I've explained it several times. NOT ONLY ME.

A question for RDI: Why do you think a ransom note was necessary in the RDI coverup plan? How does it modify the crime scene in the R's favor?

I'll speak up first. I can answer those in the same answer.

Well, to put a long explanation into a nutshell, because they needed something a little more tangible than their word. To that end, let me ask the people here something: how much would YOU trust the police in a state with values so different from where you grew up? Especially after the Susan Smith case automatically put suspicion on parents. It creates a criminal to go with the crime. In this instance, it creates several types of criminals, just to cover all bases. I always liked multiple choice questions myself.

>Sheer osmosis. What a lovely bit of writing. Wish I'd said it.

I've never been to Boulder but it sounds like the spiritual home of the Champagne Socialist Chattering Class*, something which would surely be anathema to the Ramseys.

Sort of on the point, it seemed oddly apt that my Crocs were made in Boulder...

That's the impression I get.

A lot of crocks are made in Boulder, Sophie. This case is Number One.

I hope you can read what you just posted.

"Well, we don't trust the police, so we're going to add ransom kidnapper to our list of criminals because we trust the FBI + police more than we trust the police alone."

Take some pause, and think about this.

No, it doesn't. It harks back to someone whose favorite author was Tom Clancy. What FBI profiler? Don't you mean former FBI profiler hired by the Ramseys?

How do you know that the killer killed and then remained in the house? For all you know, the killer killed when things went bad, and then split . Nobody knows how long the killer was in the house after they killed.

Well now, so you're saying the killer wrote out the ransom note before he went up to JonBenet's bedroom? This guy likes to live dangerously doesn't he? LOL. The killer would've had to remain in the house to write the RN, unless it was written before JBR's murder.

Maybe the Manson thing wasn't a good comparison. I believe the Manson link actually was 'you're not the only fat cat around so don't think that killing will be difficult' is the ideological equivalent to 'death to pigs', right?

No, death to pigs means death to those in LE.

That's pure magic thinking on your part.

You're right. I should have been more specific. It should have read: "trust the police...to stick to your script."

Oh, and I wouldn't cast any aspersions in that regard. JR himself has a very hard time keeping that story straight. First he said he wished that the FBI had been involved from the very beginning (he went further, claiming that Ron Walker was never there), then when asked if he'd like the FBI to take the case over, he said that the FBI couldn't be trusted because the BPD had poisoned them and they were now part of the big conspiracy against the Rs.

(I'm not feeling snarky right now, so I won't mention how the Rs and their lawdog got someone they could trust to take over the case. Yeah, I won't mention that! LOL)

Hi SD.

When was that? What point in time? What's the 'source' for that info?
was it a media interview?

I know what I said.

Maybe you'll need some simpler words for me because I just don't see how adding staged ransom kidnapping to already staged intruder/kidnap/sexual assault/murder would've be seen as beneficial to a conspirator at the time. All it does is attract more LE, by several times. I mean, nobody has ever done this.

I know I know, the day this makes sense...

Pardon me because I'm looking for more sense. According to LE there could be more sense out there we just dont know it all yet

Hi SD.

When was that? What point in time? What's the 'source' for that info?
was it a media interview?

During the Larry King face-off with ST in 2000, JR stated this flat-out. What makes this interesting is, only moments earlier, he himself had brought the subject up about having federal agencies take over the case in the early days. When ST made the offer to have it done now, JR made this statement.

That should answer those questions.

I might at that!

because I just don't see how adding staged ransom kidnapping to already staged intruder/kidnap/sexual assault/murder would've be seen as beneficial to a conspirator at the time.

For what it's worth, HOTYH, there was a time when I didn't either.

All it does is attract more LE, by several times. I mean, nobody has ever done this.

Nobody figures on everything.

I know I know, the day this makes sense...

Well, excuse me for not being intimately familiar with how the brains of killers work. Personally, I'm content to live the rest of my life without knowing that. As it is, it doesn't feel like there enough soap in the world to get me clean again.

Pardon me because I'm looking for more sense.

I don't hold it against you in the first place, HOTYH. I simply believe it's a dead end.

According to LE there could be more sense out there we just dont know it all yet

Maybe. But that could work both ways.

I have a copy of Gary Oliva's handwriting, when he wrote a grievance in jail. His handwriting had so many similarities to the ransom note, except for one letter consistently written different, I was shocked. He also had two instances where he wrote (printed) words with double consonants, and misspelled them....and there were two phrases the same as the ransom note. His DNA did not match, though.

There is a dollar sign in the ransom note, that was written over--it looks like a different charcater for a dollar sign was originally started. There is also an "f" that is written differently. If I wasn't such a computer moron I could copy them and bring them over. I saw someone print a similar f during a training seminar. I asked him later where he learned to print like that. He said it was when he was learning drafting. (visions of Michael Helgoth who studied drafting?)

I think it would be interesting to see all the characters in the ransom note separated in alphabetical order, side by side, to see how many times the characters were printed similarly--how many times they were altered. ie: a's, b's, c's, etc. Although this would be a tedious exercise. I haven't seen where that's been done.

In some cases some of the characters look like they were copied from type. ie: a roman font. I wouldn't discount a pretyped note brought in and recopied. Who knows-an original note may have said "son." A typed copy of the note isn't nearly as long as the printed version. Due to opportunity, and seeing the pens and pad of paper they might have gotten kicks out of recopying a note from items in the house.

IMO, it's impossible for a Ramsey to have anything to do with that note. There would be no reason to risk leaving handwriting that could be traced back---nor, in the case of an accident would they have the presence of mind to write something like that using movie lines they had no knowledge of.
