One thing that jumps out at me is how fast things heated up and went to trial after the discovery of KW's remains. I have said many times that unfortunately "money talks", and she seemed to be from a wealthy family and then you mention the wealthy "attorney friend" of her family and the team of PI's. Wonder how much it would cost and if a few big fund raisers could get enough together for Brittanee's family to hire these same PI's.

Yes, I know DD had hired a PI (I think she was the one who hired him) but she talked about the expense, etc. (Not sure I am remembering this as a definite fact though).

I found him - his name is Mark Benson, and he is out of NC. his CV is impressive

I e-mailed him today to inquire whether he was still involved in the case or not.

There needs to be a big break in this case or a miracle for Brittanee. Maybe I am a dreamer but sure wish we could get those PI's on her case.

Back to how fast things went after the remains were found, you just never hear about cases going to trial so quickly. You usually hear about years after the fact they go to trial.

I know! The prosecution had a lot of pressure put on them by Andy Savage, as Mr. Savage blasted CPD in the media! The trial is back in session today, so keep an eye on www.charleston.net for more stories!

Oh my! Marc Benson is the PI hired by the D family?. I used to moonlight from teaching on nights and weekends as a news reporter at the radio station where his show is broadcast. He has interviewed Monica Caison in the past IIRC. He seems like a nice guy and a true child advocate. Big, imposing fellow who is former LE and ran (unsuccessfully) for sheriff several years back.

I think they didn't know about phone pings. I think they thought about how well they know their area, how well they know all of the woods and trails and stream and rivers near them. I think they felt safe and comfortable in their county and within 5 miles of their home. I think it would be very unusual for an outsider to even know about Georgetown....much less to feel comfortable driving through there after dark. Finally, I think the charges against this group for the other murder they got away with were pretty solid charges. They had CONFESSIONS!! That said, what is the possibility that there is ANOTHER group of murderers living in Georgetown, SC??

I have always thought they had the right people too!

I believe the cell phone pings are the main peice of solid evidence we have at this point... What I have gathered from the media is the phone traveled south from MB through SB and into GT where in continued to ping tower 332 (Seven Mile Rd) until it finally died, sometime around midnight.

I think it points us RIGHT to our perps ! But, at the same time, does not provide much evidence against them. (Does that sound familiar to anyone? Maybe why they haven't released any names!?)

I heard someone state, in reference to the T group and others, something to this affect - "You're telling me it's coincidence that dead girls just keep washing up at your door!?"

i been checking threw court cases,,,so far ST has not had court its still pending,

HR--court still pending from what info i gather, this time HR didnt get a bail bondman, so im guessing he is still sitting in jail,,,,but both there court cases keeps getting post ponded??? im thinking (MOO) LE is still hoping for more info on BD case,,,,,,,i find it odd that on all ST crimes he never got sentence for a single day,case was either dismissed or he was on probation,in all his cases,,,and i found about 5 cases on HR few thrown out and plead begaring on the others,,,,so someone has pull!!!
 
Anyone like talk about trying now re do BD flyers ? Seems case at a stand still right now,,times is hard here,(i know from news sled kicking butt locking up our drug pin dealers,,so im sure in that special area **drugs hard to get with out big $) so been thinking may now time we can ask DD if we can do new flyers with the $6,000.00 Reward money posted on them? what do yall think????
Just idea try get BD stay in public eyes,,,,,,im sure alot of ppl in out skirts areas didnt get to see ID show,no teenagers even watch tv they out rapping ,jiving music,,lol just idea any imput on it????

RoseC, I agree! We should do whatever we can for Britt. Have you spoken with DD, CD or MC about this idea?

RoseC, I agree that ST is a possible 'Kingpin' of this gang and the others are just underlings. Why oh why has this man not been incarcerated? I am beginning to think there is some corruption going on here,......seriously!

How can there be this vehicle found on the property that was supposed to be "connected to a homicide" and nothing happens about it? Something does seem awfully fishy to me.

Thanks for keeping us posted RoseC. The last thing we should do is possiblibly interfere with the investigation and/or searches. Hopefully, there is an underlying message here and progress is being made.

wm, what you have said here makes sense. I believe that we can gleam a lot from what Rose has heard. Since LE does not seem to be accepting citizen help I am lead to believe they feel as if they have this under control. I hope they're right.
 
Has there been any leads or new information lately?? I did manage to see the episode of disappeared with her in it, lots of new info that I didn't know!

Jessica, No news really. We've been disccussing the possibility of more flier distribution in the area for Britt. However, 'unofficial' word is to wait for now per our RoseC who is familiar with those involved in working the case. We are hoping that LE is getting close to solving since they don't need help at this time. Also, SLED now has a representitive assisting/coordinating efforts of the three counties investigating Britt's case.

We will find you Britt! Hang in there sweetie.

Perps, just give Brittanee back. She needs to be home where she belongs. I hope 'they' find you and I hope 'they' make you pay for what you have done to this young lady and her family and friends! I you don't come clean in this lifetime then 'woe be unto you' in the afterlife! And with your apparent lifestyle, the afterlife may not be too far off.........

Do any of our locals know who is up for re-election as far as sheriff and DA in Horry, GT, and Chas counties? How about SC attorney General? Is that office up for re-election?

SC residents!, it does make a difference if you contact elected officials with your concerns about crime and these missing women is coastal SC......ESPECIALLY in an election year! The public was so outraged in the botched investigation of the murder of little Aja Johnson that an OK legislator launched an investigation into OSBI's handling of cases. This got the attention of OSBI and they responded with 'pie charts' of solved cases in a PC. Nothing more really, but at least they know the public is watching.....
It never hurts to 'yank the nose chain' a bit of our elected officials to bring them back to reality.

I am just sayin'.............

I was totally oblivious to this case.. it started as a missing persons case, turned out to be murder, with some crazy twists and turns!

The one thing that led me to read more on it was the fact that the family of the missing person is close personal friends with Andy Savage (Defense attorney, #1 in SC has been for MANY years, VERY wealthy!) Andy Savage had a "team" of private investigators working in the search. These PIs ultimately got one of the suspects to lead them to the body, which was deep in the woods of Wadmalaw Island, SC 4 months after she disappeared.

Brittanee had a PI at one time too! It was announced when Frank DV from AMBER Ready, Inc. announced that he was now working with the Drexel family on Brittanee's case. The PI's name is Marc ? (I honestly cannot recall his last name, though i am sure i have it written down somewhere)

If you google Kate Waring, and then click images, you will see she was a very pretty girl.. It is such a shame she got mixed up with these people and their evil nature.. From all I read about her, it seems like she was a pretty good, sweet girl, who suffered from depression, and had substance abuse problems, which probably left her vulnerable for these lowlifes to take advantage of her. I hope this couple and the neighbor get the justice they deserve! My thoughts and prayers are with the family, may they find God's guiding hand in the path to healing...
