I was grossed out and judgmental about what she was doing while being a mom, but I realize that because she is a mom, she can sympathize with Tori's mother and the devastation caused by MR in their lives. I think CS was really in love with MR and truly believed he would want to marry her and be a father figure to her children. She must have been horrified after hearing the charges he was facing and knowing that he spent any time with her kids. She is brave to speak up and reveal what she did. CS and TM were both brave in their revealing testimonies. JMO

It wasn't a photo. it was actually a news report where she is trying to get the cameras away from her. I'll see if I can find it.

I totally agree with you. Not only have they had to face their fears they had to face speculation from the public, their co-workers and everyone else who has now made a judgement about them because they knew of or dated the accused MR. MR didn't physically hurt them but sometimes the emotional damage someone does hurts more then physical. I would just like to thank all the girls for coming forward and helping in getting justice for poor Victoria and her family.

As for visiting MR. If they were testifying in his trial would they be able to visit him?

BBM: I agree. Thank-you to all the witnesses for testifying against MTR and contributing towards what will hopefully be a just verdict for Victoria Stafford and her loved ones.

Horrified, Mr. Derstine proclaimed his client was to see that child dead. Really? All the evidence suggests that April 8, 2009 was just another ordinary Michael Rafferty day.

I wonder if Derstine regrets presenting that defence.

He had no choice, IMO.

What else did he have to work with? The physical evidence corroborates TLM's testimony.

I'm choosing to believe that he's being careful to prevent any technical errors from creeping in, and so preventing any grounds for mistrial or appeal.

A philandering cad? My first thought was "the 1940s called, they want their vocabulary back." But maybe that was a little bit of contempt slipping though, a touch of understatement.

I like how the Crown timed it, pretty much last thing before a long weekend. That's a lot of time to stew things over.

"Philandering cad" is probably not exactly what the people in the courtroom were thinking today. That's probably a really, really kind term.

Judge H.'s cred just went down the teeniest, tiniest bit. Just can't see too many people relating to those instructions.

I am going to say that I am an Iphone and BB junky. I have both, one for work and one for play and seriously I look at my phone all the time. Drives my husband bonkers but its just what I do. If I get bored I read stuff, if I need something to do when I am waiting i play a game etc. I never leave home without them.

He seems to have the same issue but even more so since he was dealing drugs, pimping out his girl while cozying it up with more than a dozen girls and being on his phone constantly. Nothing he can say can explain why no data was going through during those hours except for the obvious.

What a coward.

The current count is 15 girls in the spring of 2009. He's probably pretty proud about that, come to think of it.

If you look on the 12 Key Times from the Rafferty Blackberry Evidence, there is:

-1 Data Call at 7:46:42 - Fergus Tower
-1 Voice Call at 7:47:17 - MT Forest Tower

Obviously, MTR was not in 2 places that far apart within 1 minute of each other.

The techie presented evidence how calls work for transmitting from the towers, and I think that most people that use a cell phone understand how their calls bounce off towers.

I agree, MTR's entire defense is going to be built upon the fact that the Data Call and the Voice Call show a large geographical area in between, and this "proves" he was not at the scene.

He was likely driving around, texting and arguing with his girl, right?

We will hear it all, I am sure.

Did anyone cross-reference who he was texting/calling with his blackberry pings, now that we know? I can't remember.

Nope...not going to work. You can see his phone calls show that he's starting to leave the area around that time for good. The next one pings in Arthur and then Cambridge etc. And of course there's still the lost time between when they left that HD at 5:13pm and when he started using his phone again at 7:46pm. That's about 21/2 hours for them to get from the HD to the Mt Forest location which should take about an hour. So that leaves 11/2 hours for the rape, murder and disposal. Sounds about right.

both smokers, both lost children, both can relate to being chewed up by the same guy for lack of a better word...not a surprise they gravitated towards each other while out for a smoke. Especially since the smoking section is probably marked and cannot smoke anywhere else. Apparently, it would be very hard for any two women in this area not to trip over each other and have been linked to MTR in some way (insert rolling eyes smilie). JMO

She must be livid finding out her hard-earned money was going towards buying gifts for his other girlfriends, especially after thinking he was her exclusive. That's what I call being used. But she looks like a strong woman, sure she won't make that mistake again.

It makes me think of those movies where the one "escort" believes she is the "special" one of the bunch that meets all his other needs, like the queen bee. A pecking order of sorts. But later in movie you realize they were all victims of a real dirtbag and he had feelings for noone, all business, just a dirtbag.

It is starting to seem to me that this murder was somehow a breaking in, business transaction to him of sorts, just another day as CB suggests. JMO

Was MR trying to grow his escort business by meeting these girls on POF and testing them out. If he made close to 17k off of one, easy $$$ for him by just showing up at her house a couple of times a week and show her some love, Im sure the thought of getting more girls working for him has crossed his mind. There was a statement from a few of the girls that MR was always on his BB saying that he was talking to clients or hiring for his contractor business...well I guess that it must have been his escort business.

I believe ever one on this site believes MR did play some role in VS disappearance and death, and for that he should spend his life in a damp cold cell, being ridiculed by the other inmates and guards day and night. On this we can all agree ... However I still believe TLM set the stage for this tragedy.

Of course I would want nothing but the best for my daughter ... That is why I worked hard to help her through school so she could have an easier life then I. (p.s. med school ... Proud proud moma) However if she was straight SOBER & of sound mind but still choose to become an escort then all I could do is offer my support and love.
