Moving On: Mother of Missing Christina Morris Going Back Home
POSTED 5:53 PM, NOVEMBER 20, 2014

PLANO — Jonni McElroy has become a familiar face at The Shops of Legacy; that’s where her daughter, Christina Morris, disappeared from in August.

“It was emotional when I pulled into the parking garage today because this is where it all happened almost three months ago,” McElroy said.

Report details theft arrest of man linked to FW woman's disappearance

Wylie police released an incident report Wednesday on Enrique Gutierrez Arochi’s September arrest for stealing a phone from the Sprint store he managed — a phone he reportedly used around the time of Christina Morris’ disappearance before wiping its memory and returning it to the store.

The incident report is the second legal document concerning Arochi released this week. On Tuesday, a detailed affidavit prepared by Plano police seeking a search warrant to examine Arochi’s 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was made public.

McElroy and Carlos Quintanilla, a spokesman for Arochi’s family, took sharply different views of what these documents mean.

Search Intensifies For Christina Morris
Sunday, Nov 30, 2014

November 30, 2014 marked three months since a Fort Worth woman vanished from a shopping center in Plano. The search for her will intensify this week when a team of cadaver dogs will be brought to North Texas from Houston.

Morris’ family hired a private investigator. But just like police, Paula Boudreaux is having difficulty finding hard evidence.

Private investigator weighs in on Morris disappearance
Second cadaver dog team joins search

As the three month anniversary of Christina Morris’ disappearance came and went with still no sign of the missing woman, the search has intensified for the Allen native, last seen on surveillance video walking into a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy in the early morning hours of Aug. 30.

Five dogs from the Houston-based Special K-9s Search and Recovery team will join the hunt for Morris today, making it the second canine group to get involved in the investigation, said Paula Boudreaux, the Morris family’s private investigator. MARK9 Search and Rescue, from Mesquite, joined late last month.

By Julie Fine September 5, 2014.

Marc Fein: "Police, volunteers, friends, they are all desperately searching for a missing Fort Worth woman.

Deborah Ferguson: "That woman is Christina Morris. She disappeared nearly a week ago now. Police say she was last seen leaving a friend's apartment at the Shops of Legacy in Plano and NBC's 5 reporter Ellen Bryan is there with us live this morning. Ellen, I know you have been checking with family and friends. What are you learning new this morning?"

Ellen Bryan: "Deborah what we know is when she left that apartment police believe she was coming here in this shopping center to the parking garage to get her car, but that was the last time that she was seen. Now I have talked to some of her friends this morning. They say they were out here last night searching for her. They had about 50 people, volunteers and also Plano police, who were all out here, but they say they didn't find anything. Now they were searching the area that was around the parking garage here. They do say that they found her car here on Tuesday in the parking garage. Her friends tell me that they don't know yet when they will resume their search later today. I have also talked to a security guard who is out here tonight. He says he usually just walks one street. He has been walking both sides tonight. He is also looking for answers in this search."

Boyfriend Of Christina Morris Indicted On Drug Charges
UPDATED | December 09, 2014 9:55 PM

Speaking with CBS 11 News by phone, Christina’s mother, Jonni McElroy, said the new development has left her speechless. During the conversation she also revealed that her daughter was “upset over her boyfriend’s alleged drug use and threatened to leave him” right before she vanished.

According to the only Fort Worth police report from her address in the past year, Morris, who lives in the 4000 block of Lafayette
Avenue near Camp Bowie Boulevard, reported a theft from her house March 25.
According to the police report, she let a male friend of eight years stay there between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Morris told police that her
friend had a “drastic personality change” that came out of nowhere and started calling her “Nick” before asking for a shower.
Because she didn’t have water or electricity, a neighbor let him shower at his or her place, but after starting the shower, he took off
down the street, the report says. According to the report, Morris returned home to find her purse stolen and her home ransacked.
All her belongings were later recovered behind a frame store on Camp Bowie, with the exception of her Social Security card, the
report says.

BREAKING: Aggravated kidnapping arrest made in connection with Christina Morris
Plano PD still searching for missing woman

At 7:50 a.m., Plano Police Department detectives executed an arrest warrant on Enrique Gutierrez Arochi, 24, at his Allen home.

*snip

"The basis of this arrest stems in part from results of DNA samples that were collected earlier," said Officer David Tilley, Plano PD spokesman. "We still do not know where Christina is ... but it appears that she was in [Arochi's] car."
Tilley did not say what sort of DNA evidence was collected, only that it came back positive as Christina's DNA.

*snip

"I’m glad they got him and I’m glad he’s not at his house anymore feeling like he’s got away with something," said Mark Morris, Christina's father. "Hopefully he talks now. He’s looking at a long time in jail."
The Morris family found out about the arrest when detectives arrived at their home to deliver the information firsthand.
