College probably means no one is shooting anymore, and police mean that the second suspect has not been apprehended.

My boyfriend was at the college bookstore on campus during the shooting. He normally attends the Kingwood location but had to come to this campus for books that weren't available at his location. The general consensus within the bookstore at the time was that the shooting was "gang violence" motivated, but we don't know anything for sure yet. Guns are not allowed on campus, for those curious. My boyfriend filmed the aftermath for me on his iphone once he got to his car in the parking lot (I would be out of there so fast, but maybe that's just me) and plenty of cops were on scene fairly quickly- we counted at least 20 harris county police vehicles coming onto the scene.

I'm still a little shook up to think how close he was to the shooting itself, but I'm thankful he was safe. He told me the bookstore security guard instantly put the store into lockdown mode once the shooting began, which included locking the doors and turning people who were hoping to escape into the bookstore away as they ran by (said security guard was then "flipped off" multiple times). I believe police later escorted students to the parking lot out of the bookstore... but I'm not exactly sure because the reception on the phone with my boyfriend kept breaking up. Pretty scary and too close to home.

Student:
I was just sitting in my room academic building, room 163 when I heard gun shots. Rapid shots. In the hallway.

@amandaplease223 do you have any pictures of what's going on at the school to share with CNN?

Student:
@CNNJustin no because I didn't think to take pictures while I thought my life was in jeopardy.

I like that last student. Smart kid!

This article explains the situation a little bit better. At least based on this article, there was only one shooter. Shooter shot the man he was arguing with, shot himself accidentally. An innocent bystander was also shot in the leg, and one student was taken into a hospital (possible heart attack).

"A law enforcement source said the gunman shot the man he was arguing with, then accidentally shot himself in the buttocks."

He can look forward to spending years in :jail: with everyone calling him Scarbutt.

Ummm........how do you accidentally shoot yourself in the butt? Not trying to be funny - but think about it, maybe he was trying to put the gun in the waistband of his pants in the back? Kinda awkward position to shoot yourself in the butt.

JMHO

That's exactly how- I actually knew someone back in the day who did this very thing. Trying to run and stash the gun back into their poorly placed pants at the same time. I will spare you all the jokes regarding his half a$$ed attempts. :blushing:
