The reason for the argument between the men, as well as the precise sequence of events, was still the subject of investigation late Tuesday. Why the maintenance employee was shot was unclear.

Both men involved in the altercation were listed as "persons of interest." In a statement, the Harris County Sheriff's Department said one had a student ID and that both remain under armed guard at the hospitals where they are being treated.

Later Tuesday, sheriff's officials identified the accused gunman as Carlton Berry, 22.

Although he remains hospitalized for an apparently self-inflicted accidental gunshot wound, Berry has been charged with aggravated assault.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. I'm not surprised to see that the shooting was just a dispute between two angry people- it's sadly typical for the area of town. So grateful that the damage was minimal, but my prayers go out to the victims, which of course includes the shooters. Hopefully they can get the help they need to realize guns aren't the way to solve a simple disagreement.

Yeah this happens just about every day in the closest city near me too, thugs carrying weapons illegally and shooting each other over minor things. That is the reason everyone OUTSIDE of the city has guns, because we know they are crazy and dangerous!

Course when it happens on a college campus then it makes the national news.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Eyewitness News has learned that charges have been filed this morning against a second suspect in the shooting at the Lone Star College North Harris campus.

Terry Foster, 22, is now charged with aggravated assault. He is not yet in custody. The other suspect, Carlton Berry, 22, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Very confused on what actually happened during the shooting, but another arrest made.
"Trey Foster, 22, was taken into custody without incident about 1 a.m. at a home in the Plano area, said Alfredo Perez, spokesman for the U.S. Marshal's Service."

HOUSTON – A Houston mother is both relieved and furious now that evidence shows her son was not the gunman in Tuesday’s Lone Star College shooting, after all.

Everything changed when Berry told investigators that his friend, Trey Foster, was the triggerman. The other two shooting victims later identified Foster as the man who shot them.

Authorities aren’t saying whether the charges against Berry will be dropped.

Berry was hit in the hip. Investigators initially said Berry shot himself in the buttocks when he tried to put his gun back in his pants, but there was no gun found on the scene.

Neal identified Berry as the shooter when he was being carried past him on a stretcher.

After getting Berry’s side of the story, authorities showed Neal a photo lineup with Foster on Wednesday. Neal then identified Foster as the gunman, saying he made a mistake when he identified Berry earlier because Foster and Berry were both wearing red shirts.

“Once everyone has time to reflect back and review photo spreads and remember what has occurred and review any photos or video surveillance, they are much better able to determine what they saw and who they saw do it,” said Alison Baimbridge, Harris County Assistant District Attorney.

A 25-year-old man responsible for a 2013 shooting at a Lone Star College campus that left four people hospitalized was sentenced to 16 years in prison Wednesday in Harris County District Court.

Trey Foster, the so-called "Lone Star College Shooter," had pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in September last year.
