Hi everyone I'm new this morning but followed it last week with you all! My personal feeling on the case is that IS didn't like HB at all, I think his hate built up over a period of time until he couldn't stand her or Boris any longer.

[h=3]Attempts made to take money from account[/h]Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer is carrying on with his cross examination. He directs Stewart to the jury bundle which has information about the attempts to take money out of the bank account of Helen Bailey. On April 7, £600 went into the joint account from Helen Bailey’s bank account. On May 9 and June 7, £4,000 goes into the joint account from Helen Bailey’s bank account. Trimmer: Is the money going into the joint account something you noticed? Stewart: No

[h=3]Stewart quizzed over accounts[/h]T: you told us on Thursday you thought she might have put £4,000 in to cover the single cost of decorations at the house? S: Yes T: You told us she was a careful lady and had money in mind when she made judgements S: She was indeed T: Why would she have made a £4,000 standing order without description of time? S: I don’t know T: You did it didn’t you? S: No T: It was quite a persistent series of attempts wasn’t it? S: It looks that way yes. T: What you had done would eventually enable you to have her wealth, the crown suggest, but it would take some time before that was clear. It would take a while before the dust had settled, before you could have your power of attorney. How long do you suppose it would take? S: I don’t know. I wanted to sort out Helen’s affairs so that when she returned things were easy for her, as easy as they could be. T: Why did this need to be done while Helen was missing? S: I don’t know why my mind was thinking that way at that time, it was just something to do

[h=3]Delay would have cost flat sale buyer[/h]T: The sale of the flat in the north could wait, couldn’t it? S: It certainly could but we would have lost the buyer T: You could have found another one S: Yes T: That was her flat, her decision, not yours S: It was our decision T: it was her decision, her money

[h=3]Ian Stewart says £4,000 'nothing'[/h]T: You thought this would be worthwhile money to keep you going until things settled down S: To be honest I’ve got more than enough money, £4,000 is nothing is it T: Exactly, that’s what you thought, it wasn’t much and wouldn’t be noticed

He's starting to argue back....

[h=3]Note was 'plan number one' - prosecution[/h]T: An extra £4,000 would come in handy wouldn’t it? S: I didn’t need this T: Let’s move on to the note, this is as I’ve described it, plan number one, the note ,Helen’s gone away. There was no note was there? S: No T: There was never a note S: No T: She never wrote a single thing, did she? S: I’ve just answered that question twice T: Joe and Nick who the crown say don’t exist never told you to write a note did they? S: No, but I said it and I had to stick with it T: It was a carefully thought through plan wasn’t it? S: No plan at all

[h=3]Prosecution says note was 'thought through'[/h]T: Why did you think the note should say Helen needs space and time? S: It was just what came to my mind T: I suggest it was much more thought through than that. Why was ‘don’t contact me’ part of the lie? S: Because Nick had said that. I wanted Helen to come back T: That was the lie you sent out into the world? S: Yes

Didn't he earlier tell us nick and joe told him to write the note.

Just thinking, I know IS said he wouldn' have noticed the standing order going into the account as he'd only notice if it dropped below 20k, but if it was 4k a month from may 1st then by July the account would be 12k more than normal, so surely he'd notice that it was now suddenly over 30k instead of over 20k.

[h=3]Stewart says he was 'sad and upset'[/h]T: You would have to behave as if that note existed wouldn’t you? You’d have to appear as the man whose lover had gone without explanation? S: I guess so T: You’d have to appear sad and upset S: I was sad and upset T: You would have to appear as if it caught you emotionally, and appear as if you were crying? S: I didn’t have to make myself look like that

Interesting after last night's discussion that he has the Court bundle. So now I am unsure whether he too has access to his statement. :scared:

[h=3]Stewart says he took decision not to reveal Helen was being held[/h]T: You tell us that Joe and Nick had Helen at this stage? Kidnappers? Dangerous people? S: As it turned out very dangerous, yes T: But they hadn’t shown you a weapon had they? S: No T: So these dangerous people had Helen, and you’re the only person in the whole world that knows that? S: Yes T: You spoke to John Bailey who spoke to Helen’s mother. You knew that didn’t you? S: Yes T: Why didn’t you say to John ‘I have a real problem here, can we discuss what the best way forward is?’ S: I just took the decision not to tell anybody. T: Why did you not speak to Tony Hurley about it? S: That was my plan, that’s what I tried to do, I failed because he wasn’t in his office that day. T: This isn’t a little problem about your tax return, this is life and death S: I thought Tony might have known Joe and Nick, that’s why I wanted to look him in the eye. I knew something was wrong. T: If Tony knew Joe and Nick it wouldn’t be hard to discuss this with him? S: No T: This is all a lie which is why you’re struggling with it S: No. T: You didn’t ask Tony Hurley ‘what’s the dispute with John Sinfield’s friends?’ You didn’t even say ‘was there a dispute?’ S: No

[h=3]Stewart accused of 'acting' suicidal thoughts[/h]T: This was a complicated charade you had to carry on with? S: I’ve already said that, yes T: You told your doctor and mental health professionals that you wanted to commit suicide in context of your lover disappearing? S: I thought about this more than once yes T: You were acting this weren’t you, acting the part? S: No, I wasn’t
