GUILTY UK - Natalie Hemming, 31, Milton Keynes, Herts, 1 May 2016

Sounds as if he might have been trying to pin the killing on her colleague, if he accused him of rape. I suspect the missing rug from the house might have helped answer that.

The best friend of Natalie Hemming told the court that Hemming attacked her just days before killing her.

Miss Hornsby told the jury: “She had told me that they had an argument one night and that she told Paul ( Hemming ) that Simon ( Dennis ) fancied her at work.

On April 30, after meeting Mr Dennis, Miss Hemming sent another series of messages to Miss Hornsby, the court heard.
In one she said: “He took me to Jamie’s restaurant in St Albans, got me flowers and we stayed in St Michael’s Manor Hotel, it’s well posh.

Following the murder the jury was told that Hemming tried to cover his tracks.
He sent various text messages from her phone to her friends and family and even to himself. One said; “I am feeling a million times better.”

He also texted Mr Dennis telling him that Miss Hemming and himself had discussed their relationship and decided that she was better off together.
In the same message she told him to “back off”.

He also told Mr Dennis’ work that he had raped his partner causing him to be investigated by the company, the court heard.

Miss Hemming’s body was found almost three weeks later on May 22 by John Goldy in Chandler’s Cross, Herts.
Mr Goldy was moving a field when he smelt “rotting flesh”. He initially thought it was a dead deer but discovered Miss Hemming’s body,

The court heard that it was badly infested with maggots and pathologists were unable to ascertain a cause of death.
They discovered she had a fractured skull and a broken left arm, suggesting defensive injuries, and was not judged to have died naturally.

The court heard that Hemming black Ford S Max people carrier was found to have Miss Hemming’s blood in the boot.
It was also picked up on various Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras travelling from Milton Keynes towards Hertfordshire on the evening after Miss Hemming’s death.

“I told Paul to keep it amicable for the kids. He said it would never be amicable.”

The jury were told Natalie was “enjoying life” before she was killed and was planning on having a career after spending a decade as a housewife. Mrs Hammond said Hemming didn’t understand this.

She had a daughter from a previous short lived marriage with a man named Matthew O’Connor. Mr O’Connor would send his daughter presents but Hemming banned him from contacting his biological daughter and he hadn’t seen her since she was six. Anything he sent her would have to be stored at her grandmother’s house in Hemel Hempstead or disguised so it didn’t look like it came from him.

These snippets say all we need to know about him. He thought he owned her.

The court was also read a statement by Miss Hemming's mother, in which said she was worried when she could not contact her daughter on the evening of 1 May.
The previous week Miss Hemming told her she had twice ended the relationship with Mr Hemming and he replied: "If I can't have you no one can," the court was told.

I'm just waiting for the 'I killed her in self-defence' claim.

Court in session since about 10am but cant find any live feed or tweets.

Jurors at Luton Crown Court were shown CCTV of Paul Hemming, 43, with the children at Whipsnade Zoo.
He wept in the dock as the video footage was shown.

In another interview shown to the court, he told detectives the dog had soiled a rug missing from the house.
When asked about 13 spots of blood on the coffee table he answered that it could have come from any member of the family.

The court also heard a statement from John Goalby, who found Miss Hemming's body in woodland at Tom's Hill, Chandler's Cross on 22 May, while he was cutting the meadow using a quad bike towing a grass cutter.

A father told a court how he killed his partner by hurling an imitation Faberge egg at her - after she told him she had slept with another man.
Paul Hemming, 43, said the heavy, £1,000 egg - which was made of jade - struck Natalie Hemming on the head, causing her to fall onto the corner of their coffee table.
He told Luton Crown Court, on the night of May 1 this year, she ended up on a rug in their Milton Keynes home and, when he got to her, he realised she was not breathing.

Jury hears Paul Hemming threw phone at Natalie's head in 2007. He told her "shut up or I'll kill you

Jury also heard Paul Hemming hit Natalie with bottle in 2013 & poked in eye. He denies murder but has admitted manslaughte

This sounds like more than just PH throwing the egg and Natalie banging her head on the coffee table.

Pathologist Dr Olaf Biedrzcki told the court her body had been subject to "significant decomposition" and due to this he could not tell if there had been any compression to the neck. He said the formal cause of death was "unascertained".

He said a depressed skull fracture in the right temporal region was a "very significant finding", adding the vast majority of these types of injuries were caused by an attack "with a weapon".

Dr Biedrzcki said Miss Hemming also suffered a fracture of the outer left arm which was a "typical defensive injury". An expert bone pathologist concluded she would have been alive when the fracture was sustained.

He said he thought the two injuries would have been caused by "more than one blow".
