The Stefano #Brizzi defence closing speech will be on Friday The jury has been given a new count of manslaughter to consider

Looks like the jury might not go out until Monday then. Or even Tuesday if the judge waits to do his summing up on Monday.

What does this mean, a new count of manslaughter? Did the judge decide this? Is it in case they won't find him guilty of murder they can find him guilty of manslaughter instead?

I can't tell if it's a replacement or an alternative charge. Likely to be an alternative if they don't find him guilty of murder, I would have thought.

Sorry for the confusion I've caused with TL;DR "too long; didn't read". I assumed it was common and felt out the loop for only learning it this year! That'll teach me for trying to be clever [emoji5]️

QUICK POLL
(thank this post if you believe it was...)

Murder?

I'm undecided. I don't think he planned to murder Gordon when he invited him to his flat, nor when they had sex. But I believe he didn't really care when it happened, nor was he careful that their sex game would and could not lead to any harm. I guess that would put me in the manslaughter camp?

I too don't think he set out to murder Gordon. However his actions after the fact just go to show what a twisted individual Brizzi is and how far he would go to cover his tracks. I think if he had gotten away with this whole crime it may have prompted him to actually go out and purposely kill somebody

I think that maybe he DID have an idea in his head to use Grindr to lure someone to his flat and then murder them ... what I don't think he bargained for is rifling through his victims pockets and finding a Police I.D ... until that point, he may have been confident that his victim would be just another missing person who'd barely make a few lines in a local newspaper and 'oopsy' - killed a policeman! Well THAT'S not going to just go unnoticed huh ...

How long did they know each other? I assume this was the first time Gordon went to his flat?

Getting his last little cry in before the jury went out I see.
