GUILTY VT - Melissa Jenkins, 33, St Johnsbury, 25 March 2012

Deja Vu. Doesn't this sound just like the other case in the closed ski resort, I think in Maine? Baby found in the car, and mother found later in a retention pond?

I cannot find any live links... so I am guessing this is just a "briefing"....

IIRC, that case was a drug deal gone bad. I'm not getting the same feeling here. ETA: I think it was New Hampshire

Vermont State Police investigators have blocked off part of the road leading to the home of a missing woman whose 2-year-old child was found alone in her vehicle a short distance away.

Two fire department workers were seen walking along a nearby dirt road that's near a river.

Police say Jenkins is a science teacher at St. Johnsbury Academy and is a part-time waitress at the Creamery Restaurant in Danville.

Once you leave St. Jay, it becomes very rural quickly. The next largest town is north of there, Lyndonville, which is home to Lyndon State College.

I was born in Orleans, and traveled through the area alot after moving to see relatives.

Nurse, please delete mine. Our posts overlapped. Thanks

It sounds like she didn't get very far from her home before the incident occurred. Did someone follow her? Where was she going?

So many questions......why would the family member say she was trying to help someone at the time? A student?

I wonder if she was the type of person who would stop to help a stranger? Did she have a cell phone on her? Is there cell service in the area?
